iPhone 13 Pro Max, running iOS 16 Beta 3. I haven't had trouble with CarPlay yet. A couple of 3rd party apps don't rotate to landscape view when I turn the phone like they used to but it's still early in the beta process.

One thing I have always had was different wallpapers for the home and lock screens. I cannot figure out if this is possible in iOS 16. So far, I can only have the sme wallpaper on both.

This has been possible for multiple versions of iOS.

1. Chose a photo, hit the share button.
2. Chose “use as wallpaper” position/crop the image how you want it, then hit the set button. It will give you the option to set Lock Screen, set Home Screen, or set both.
3. Choose Home or Lock Screen.
4. repeat for next image

It doesn’t give us the new features highlighted that gives access to vehicle dynamics and controls. That requires the car manufacturers to allow Carplay to access the data. Don’t expect to see multiple screen CarPlay until 2024 car models. Maybe even 2025.

As much as I like Uconnect and it’s UI and responsiveness, it will be a boon to car manufacturers to adopt the new CarPlay UI. Maybe Apple will allow you to customize things like the navigation icon, or car manufacturers could provide their own navigation app to allow such.

… that’s how you set different wallpapers for the home and lock screen. Chose the picture you want as your wallpaper for Home or Lock Screen and set it.

So far this has been the most stable public beta for me. Battery life is good, no crashes, freezing and all of my apps seem to be working well.

Your steps are for choosing a photo/picture and setting it as either your home or lock screen wallpaper.

That's not the only way to set wallpaper. What if I want to choose one of the built in iOS wallpapers? That's the point I'm trying to get across.
