Unconnected restarts every time iPhone is connected and playing music

I got back from my 4th trip to a Jeep dealer in three months for this issue. Got the upgrade, and it still doesn’t work right. An iPod in the center console has to be unplugged and plugged back in every time I start the car. My iPhone was not recognized and I had to pair it again so I would have a NAV system.

Standard response from the dealer, “well, this is new technology, we’re trying to figure it out.” No, CarPlay has been available in several model years at this point.

I had my radio updated last August and am getting the newest update installed this afternoon (dealer told me it became available 11/08/18) Has anyone had any luck fixing this ridiculous iPhone usb problem??

Mine’s been at the dealership since last week to install the update for the same issue but it keeps crashing during the update so now they are talking about replacing the radio.

Good news update : picked up my Wrangler today after they completed the software update and my multiple radio issues are resolved:
- Radio no longer powers off/resets every 5 min when iPhone is connected via USB and playing music.
- USB-C port on dash is now recognized by radio so it charges and plays audio from Iphone (previously it would only charge)
- Center console USB port is now recognized by radio so it charges and plays audio

I know I’m about a year or two late, but this is happening on my ‘19 Wrangler JLU! I’ve tried every single cable in my house, standard usb & c, multiple iPhones...middle console. Checked iOS and uconnect for updates, none. Anytime USB’s are in use, speakers pop, screen reboots and phone vibrates that it’s plugged in again, resets time to 12 and it goes on and on. I’ve resorted to not being able to plug my phone in and strictly using Bluetooth. I just got this car 2 weeks ago now and ofc there was no way to know test driving since there’s no cables. I wouldn’t have gotten this car if I knew I’d be having this issue with a year old car.
Took it to my dealer, they took it to Jeep, Jeep said they updated it which was surprising bc when I put in my VIN on the site it says “your 2019 vehicle is up to date” got it back two days ago and issue is still persisting. My dealer said if it happens again, Jeep wants to take my cords with the car. I only use Apple cords, this is not the cords. I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but I’d love for my basically first car, not to mention basically brand new, to just work and function like its supposed to. Super frustrating :-(

My 2020 does the same thing. I think it worked fine when I first got it and now I have to press Media>>Bluetooth>>select phone>>Connect. So annoying
