Im assuming a large contingent of us will be switching out the stock old school type of antenna ( that does work very well) for something a bit shorter/ more subtle... if you plan on changing yours out, what are you going with? Looking for a few quality options. Thanks!

I'd be interested in what stubby black ones have worked well for other people, I don't listen to FM often, but I also don't want a crappy antenna for when I do.

Suggest moving this to the communications/audio board, although that may be something a moderator has to do after it's created.

For myself: when I bought my LJR used, it had a stubby antenna and it was almost entirely useless. Bought a full-length one and have been quite happy.

I've been kinda eyeballing this but I don't want it to mess with my XM radio. The reviews say it doesn't so I may order and just see how it does and switch back if it isn't sufficient enough.

I've not heard this - the reception on the JL is not great with the stock atenna?

EDIT: Opps, I missread that. Disregard.

The FM antenna is different than the XM antenna.

I think he's saying we'll be changing it out even though it does work good....
Yes, exactly I’m assuming it works well, just like the JK... with that said, it whips around like crazy depending on what you are doing, plus, I’d prefer something more subtle... I’m ok with giving up some reception but I’d still like a quality option.

Maybe, if it’s better placed there I apologize for putting it in the wrong place...it’s as much a cosmetic mod as and audio one really.

Antena X is one of the best perfect length and reception on all bands. And it looks good. I had it on my JK for 5 1/2 years. I only bought another one because it had a 5 year wind bend in it that aggrivated me. It cost like $16 bucks on Amazon. Same set up as JK. I still have the old one, still works perfect,

Is there any way to keep these antennas from being stolen? Loctite?
