another tpms year question…

so i have a 2019 and i’m looking to buy a used set of wheels and tires however if i purchase a used set from 2022, i’ll basically have to pay to have my original tpms switched over to the new set, correct? thanks for any assistance!!

I swapped mine over to my new wheels, I think they charged me an extra $150 CDN.

Depending on when the 21 was built, you might not have to swap.

Most shops around here would charge $25 per tire. If your 2020 was built AFTER 6/20 then you are ok. If it was not then yes you need new TPMS.

Once you have a set of TPMS they will last about 5 yrs or so and about 80K miles. If you want to save the cost of doing TPMS at a different time then best to replace the TPMS when they are doing the tires as then you only pay labor once.

So it sounds like I am screwed either way. My 2020 was built in Dec 2019. So I know the 2021 TPMS that are inside the takeoffs won’t work. But will my stock TPMS work inside the Rubicon wheel?

Alternatively, use one of the programmers (I use JScan) and just shut off the warning.
JScan costs about $80 for everything you need and you can dona lot of other interesting stuff as well.
