Is the picture I posted definitely destroyer gray with the paint code you mention?
yes. Definitely destroyer gray. Lots of videos on YouTube too. It looks different in different light.

Thanks guys, that's helpful. Still hard for me to properly imagine it on my Rubicon. I feel like it might be too light of a gray for me, but then in some lights I think it's perfect.

Decisions decisions...

I went and checked this color out in person, and it is definitely 'light' from some angles, and darker from others....It's pretty neat.

I'm also having a hard time picturing it on the Rubicon, with contrasting black fenders and top....But my guess is that it'll be awesome.

I ordered my Rubicon with painted flares just to get MORE of the paint at different angles. I love non-metallic clear coat grays!

I feel the biggest disappointment will be the Jeep is basically flat - you won't get that neat color break like the Challenger has above rear fenders, but the new belt line on the Wrangler will give it a little angle.

Literally can't wait - I've chatted with Jeep daily since ordering a week ago... still in D (at least not C!)

I hear ya! Jeep chat won't help me because I'm in Canada. So I'm just kind of waiting ...trying not to bug my dealer.

I was between sting grey and red. I love the red, its a great Jeep color, but I can drive for 3 minutes and see 12 red Jeeps. Then looking at some of those chargers/challengers with all the black accents sold me on sting grey. It’s going to be different and bad ass.

Just recieved a responce back from Jeep cares about matching hardtop. They said that Sting Gray will be released the early part of April and that the matching hardtop will follow a few weeks later. I guess they don't know that the color was already released. But good to hear that the Matching hardtop will follow. When I called customer service the other day they said no matching hardtop until 2019 for Sting Gray. Funny to see that everybody at jeep has a different answer for the same question. Lets hope the workersbuilding our jeep are doing a better job than customer service.

I was on the fence as well, and also think it's absurd that there isn't a single photo of a sting gray Jeep on the internet at this time. But I'm gong for it anyway. You only live once, and sting gray does look pretty cool.

Or as I like to call it, destroyer gray, since they're the same color. Don't get me wrong, stingrays are cool. But stingrays also killed Steve Irwin, so...

Plus destroyers are cooler. I'm thinking of tastefully mounting a replica 5" gun somewhere on my Jeep when I go wheeling. Can you tastefully mount a 5" gun?

sting-gray is a cool name.

Sounds like the drink special at a Bahama Breeze restaurant.

Oh I agree, Sting-Gray is definitely a cool name. I'm just a little partial to Destroyer from having served on one. Unfortunately never had the opportunity to serve on a stingray.

I got some insight today into lead times for Sting-Gray. My sales rep called his Jeep rep to ask about the "late availability" notice that pops up when building an order with SG color. The Jeep rep said that an order with a standard color placed this week would be a "April Build" meaning they would start the build in April, and I could expect the receive the Jeep in May or June. If I placed an order for Sting-Gray it would be a "May Build" meaning they start the build in May and I could expect it in June or July. Brutal.

So basically add a month to normal lead time if you want Sting-Gray. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I want SG, but I will be hating myself during those beautiful days in May and June I'm without my new Jeep because I wanted a special color...

Keep in mind that most information that has been shared about colors from Jeep Reps has been inconsistent or just plain wrong.

I am assuming 3 months. That would mean first week of June. Later than that would suck. But I have waited this long I can wait a couple more months if necessary.
