I know this disconnect issue has been talked about for quite a while, but most of the discussions have been about CarPlay. I have the problem with Android Auto and an S25. There is the TSB: 08-020-24 that has been mentioned, and I've seen a few posts where someone says they tried the TSB, but it didn't fix anything. I'm wondering if anyone got the new cable installed from the TSB and actually had it fix the disconnect issue?

My experience is that most cables, including the Anker Powerline cables that were suggested as a fix, don't actually fix the problem (at least for me). The strange part is that in 2017 I bought a set of 3 braided USB 3.0 cables with gold plated connectors that came in 8-inch, 2-foot, and six-foot lengths. When I heard cable length could be a problem for disconnects, I tried this old 8-inch cable, and it worked. I then tried the 6-foot cable, and it also worked. I then searched out the 2-foot since I figured that's really the size I need, and when I tried it - it didn't work.

I guess my main question is did anyone fix the problem by applying the TSB, and also are there any thoughts on my strange USB cable experience?

You've already verified that it's a cable issue, right? It's not exactly surprising that 9 year old cables aren't up to snuff. I'd try a different name brand.
Maybe I wasn't clear, but two of the three 9-year-old cables work and one does not. Also, I tried new cables including an Anker Power Line II model that was suggested somewhere, but no new cables have worked. I'm surprised there isn't much feedback on that TSB.

Yes, you were clear. The big clue is that it works with some cables. It's difficult to believe it's a problem with the Jeep if it works with some cables.

I’m looking at my fuse box on my 2021 Jeep JL and this is what I’m seeing.
Jeep Wrangler JL Android Auto Disconnect Issue from Center Console IMG_0766

F53 is just a holding slot I believe. I can’t push the jumper down into it.
Am I missing something?

Is your issue that the center console won’t disconnect from the phone?

If so I just did this fuse tap mod and it solved my issue of center console staying on and connecting to my phone.
No, the issue is that android auto disconnects every couple of minutes when connecting to the USB port in the center console. There is a thread here talking about it in regard to Apple Car Play. The TSB that supposedly fixes the issue is also referenced in the thread.

Jeep acknowledges it is a problem, but I can't find any mentions of someone confirming that the TSB actually fixed their problem.

Have you tried a wireless dongle for AA? @Rhinebeck01 has written a few articles on some of the best ones.

AAWireless would work, but then he'd need to do something like plug it into the rear seat ports (no data) for charging.

I use my cigarette lighter with a traditional charger, but I find that even with all day use rarely do I run my battery completely low, especially with an S 25 ultra. I’m on an iPhone 16e at the moment and still see the battery last through 5+ hour drives and a full day of work without charging too often

I'm pretty sure most people still want charging, especially when using maps and playing content.

I had the TSB cable done and it didn’t fix it for me. Still had random AA disconnects. What finally helped was a very short, older USB cable. I’ve seen others say the head unit seems picky about cable shielding and signal quality, not just length. It’s a frustrating issue and doesn’t seem fully solved by the TSB alone
This is what I was worried about. I haven't seen anyone mention that the TSB fixed the problem. I have an 8-inch cable that works, but then the phone has to stay in the center console. I have a 6-foot cable that works, but then I have 5 feet of cable rolled up in my console.

I tried a wireless adapter a few years ago, and I returned it. I can't remember why I didn't like it. I may have to try again.

I ran it from F51 with two fuses to F11 with only one fuse in the top.
Fuse F51 is for:
Digital TV (DSRC)/USB/InSide RearView Mirror (ISRVM)/ Compass Module (CSGM).

Will this work and is it ok to turn the Jeep on now to try it out?
Any possibility messing anything up?

@Grayhound
It works!!!!
Man that’s been bugging me forever about my phone staying connected when I leave the Jeep.
Now I turn the Jeep off, open the door, and the center console usb port shuts off disconnecting my phone.

Thank you so much!!!!!!!
