I've been searching from the offset threads and I think I'm a little more confused now than I was before I started lol. I have a Sport S and plan on switching to rubicon size tires with after market wheels. From what I've read the factory offset is 44.45mm from what I've read the wheels I'm looking at, the MOTEGI MR150 traillite can be had with a 0mm offset or a +18. I'd like the tires to be flush with the fender flares and after searching through the treads I'm not sure which offset will get me there.

What width are those wheels? If they are 8.5 width then a "zero" offset will be similar to my setup w/ those 285 width Rubi tires. The +18 will be about 3/4" inside from mine (closer to the fender edge)
Here's my 295/70/17s on 8.5 +10 offset

Offset is troubling me as well. 2" lift in place and looking at 35x12.5x17 tires and new wheels for my Sport S.

A friend who works for a suspension company tells me I want a +12 to + 25 offset but my local off road tire dealer says negative 12 is ideal.

They are 8.5 inches wide. I even thought about looking into a skinnier tire. I ran 33x10.50s on my TJ and they worked really well. I haven't seen any JLUs with that size on them though.

Only a couple tires in that size that I found, but this is a nice one~

A 255/80/17 is a bit over 10" wide and about 33 1/4" tall and more options

There may be some more metric options but I haven't looked into it. In the past I've run two separate sets of wheels and tires but I'm thinking about just sticking with AT's.

What size are you getting? The above tire size will only work w/ 16" wheels.
And 16" wheels most likely won't clear the brakes on a JL .

This is 17x8.5 wheeks with +25 offset. AEV Borah. 285/70R17 BFG KO2 original Rubicon tires. On my JLUR

I read that wrong and got excited for nothing lol. I haven't had any interest in my stock wheels and tires yet anyway. Looks like it would have to be 285/70/17.

As outlined above, the MR150 with the ET+18 is the best option if you don't want to the wheels to poke out too much.

If you're interested in the Scorpion All-Terrain Plus, Pirelli offers this model in 285/70R-17.

I'll go with +18 and may consider going with 255/75R17. Does anyone have pictures of the old Rubicon size mounted on their JL? *
