Thanks for the replies so far. I think this exercise helped to solidify which options are must haves after a few weeks of trying to figure out what those were. I agree the good deal feeling would wear off fast if the must haves aren't there.

So, let me ask your opinions of the following since I've been waffling before I put in my order.

Must Haves
  • 2.0/8spd
  • 8.4" Premium Audio
  • LED Lighting
  • Premium Soft Top
Considering
  • Cold Weather
  • Tow/Electrical
  • Remote Proximity

Sounds like we have at least one vote for the proximity as a 'meh.' I live in the South, so the Cold Weather group would be used more for remote starts on hot days and heated seats for top down days in the fall/winter. I don't currently have anything to tow, but this would be more for the aux switches since I know a hitch can be put on a Jeep for cheap.

I know this one is personal but I'm also torn between Billet Silver and Granite but leaning towards Granite...

Any insight would be great. I'm trying to convince myself to go ahead with the order so I don't waste all of this perfect Jeep weather!
I would also go with what you’re considering as well... “cold weather, tow/electrical and proximity.” These, and your “must haves”, will be my same package order. Except, I am uneasy with the quality/longevity of the 2.0 Turbo. If I was leasing, I would do the 2.0. and drive it like I stole it (while under warranty). But, my plan is to keep my next Wrangler (my 3rd one), so for that reason, I will order the 3.6.

Also, I would recommend the painted fenders. The black plastic ones seem to weather quickly unless you maintain some type of protectant on them frequently. And, my personal preference... I don’t like the body colored painted hard tops. I like the textured black. To me, that’s the way a Wrangler should look! Lol... just my opinion.

Could someone provide me with a contact at Criswell that will give the 8% below invoice? looking into placing an order and they seem the best deal around. Thx.

Try Patrick Mantua ([email protected]). Just email him your build sheet from the Jeep website and ask him for a price with the Tread Lightly discount (if you have that) and the JL Wrangler forum discount. Usually a quick response from him too.

Hello,
I was very interested in the Gladiator - until I realized I can't fit in the truck bed if I needed to sleep in it.
Also, the Selec-Trac II "4Auto" transfer case is a strong feature for me.
So, I'm in the market for a Sahara.
MSRP is $47,740 for desired config.
Invoice $45165.

Where did you find 11% below invoice?

Thanks for this. Emailed him this afternoon and he responded within 1.5hrs with a quote at the 8% below invoice, which to my pleasant surprise also discounts the destination charge of $1,495.

I asked him about any addt'l fees and he mentioned $300 dealer processing fee and $114 for wheel locks, the latter for which i said to remove as i don't want them. Had couple other additional questions re: tax/registration (since i'm out of state) and financing (at which point during the order/purchase process do i need to have this settled) but that otherwise i'm ready to go through with the order. $53,110 MSRP down to $46,043

No, MSRP was $48,575 and the deal was for $41k which works out to 11% under invoice. I should also clarify it was missing the 8.4” screen with Alpine.
May I ask how you are getting 11%? If the MSRP was $48k and you got it for $41k, that comes out to a little over 8% off the MSRP, meaning less than 8% off the invoice.

Sounds about right. I ordered from Criswell as well and my Jeep was $54k, got it for $47k. I told them no wheel locks but for some reason I still got them. Checked the paperwork and they didn't charge me for em

If you are including the sales tax in your loan, I would recommend you asking Criswell to write the check in your name. They originally wrote the sales tax check out to DMV but the amount was incorrect. I had to mail the check back to them and ask for a new check in my name. Just a suggestion to eliminate a possible headache.

Check your math. He is getting almost 15% off of MSRP.

48,000-41,000=7,000

7,000Ă·48,000= .14583333

14.58% off MSRP

Wow, my apologies. I guess I shouldn't be doing math at night haha

For some reason I was doing 41,000Ă·48,000

Thanks for the all the comments!

So here’s the update. After deciding to pass on the deal, I went ahead with my order at Criswell. When it came time to commit to a configuration, this build sheet is what I selected.

In the end, the experience with Criswell has been great and I'm glad I'll be getting exactly what I want. They have been quick in their communication and answered all of my questions. Really the only way to get a deal around town is on an inventory unit, and there always seems to be a compromise in features along with a higher price tag.

The 11% off deal was really just a matter of being at the right place at the right time. It was less than an hour before closing on the last day of the month, and I guess they really wanted one more sale.

I also decided at the last minute to change to the V6. I've driven both engines many times now, and while at first I was set on the 2.0, the added cost and complexity for the incremental fuel economy gain didn't seem worth it. That was one of the hardest decisions...

Congrats. I too ordered with Criswell and should be getting the VIN on Monday alongside the official PO so i can go to my bank for financing. Who did you deal with? i went through Patrick as suggested here and so far he has been great.

You won't regret proximity. It's nice to not have to fumble with keys especially with such a large keyfob. Just walk up to your jeep and unlock it by grabbing the door handle. My favorite feature along with the LED headlights and 8.4" screen.

I’ve been lurking for a while, and now I’m getting serious about buying my Jeep. I just walked away from a 2019 JLUR that was offered to me at a little over 11% under invoice because it didn’t have the Alpine system and proximity key. I do like a good audio system, and the larger screen is nice, but the factory navigation would be waste since I would just use CarPlay. The color and top were exactly what I am looking for.

I’ve previously been working with Criswell on an order at 8% under, but some of that savings would be eaten up in travel costs. What do you think, are these features worth the extra money (and discount)?

Thanks!
I ordered a JLU with a MSRP that totaled
$55,760. It is pretty much loaded with all the extras. I got $7000 off the MSRP which comes out to 13% off the sticker price.
I would recommend the 8.4 screen with the Alpine stereo. The proximity option works fine for me. I have to thank the members of this forum for giving me the knowledge to get a great deal on my JL
I live in Ma 20 minutes from Boston.
It is hard to get more than 2 % off invoice.
Another important thing to check out if you are purchasing one of the lot. I would get the
ViN # and call Jeep Cares to see if it has the new track bar in It. Once mine arrived at the dealership and was ready for delivery I brought a friend who crawled under vehicle and inspected the welds. I wouldn’t not pay for it first until you check the welds.
This is just my opinion. Good luck

Looks awesome— you’re going to be stoked when it comes in!
Which dealer were you first working with in your original post?

I also placed an order with Leon from Criswell, on 4/26 for 8% off invoice.

Order was accepted by FCA on 4/29/19, VIN Issued 4/30/19, Entered D1 status on 5/1/19. I'd be so stoked if it was KZ by next week... but that's probably wishful thinking.
