I had the WeatherTech fronts in my JK, and I agree.. they provide the best protection. However the WeatherTech rears are HORRIBLE! They are made of a very thin plastic that the ends curl over time and flap in the wind if you take the doors off. The WeatherTech rear floorliners are by far the worst available.

Looking at photo's of the JL's... they look like they didn't improve the rears at all :(

Yes, the WeatherTech stickers, peel off very easily.

On the day the WeatherTechs arrive, I peel the stickers off each FloorLiner and stick them both on the back of my toolbox.

When I eventually sell the vehicle that the WeatherTechs were purchased for, I peel them back off the toolbox, put them back on the FloorLiners and sell the floor liners. The vehicle I sell gets the never used OEM floor mats put back in.

Just did this to a pair of WeatherTech fronts I had for my '14 Sahara. Bought the pair new for $ 116.00, used them for over 4.5 years and sold them for $40. Lots of use by me but cleaned up well. A very well made FloorLiner.

The drain in the Mopar liners is 100% about function over form. As a user noted in another post, if you push the drain provision down into the hole enough, it'll pop into place and seal off just as well as the rubber plug did to begin with.

Having said that, I don't plan on driving my new $40,000 Wrangler through lakes so I'm not concerned about it. I like the ability to wash and rinse the mats clean while they're in the vehicle. It's a feature unique to the Wrangler. Why not take advantage of it?
Because I can more effectively remove the mats, wash them with simple green, rinse without worrying it will splash all over my nice $50000 JLUR interior, and replace them in the vehicle quicker.

I wasn’t happy with the deal or the lack of coverage from under the gas pedal. Replaced the Mopar with Weathertech and couldn’t be happier.

Yeah the more I look at the Mopar mats, the more I'm out. I dislike the floor drain as I see that as a weak point. Let alone, when I wash my mats, I take them out of the vehicle. Dealer is getting me the Mopar for free so I'll be selling them at discount to anyone interested. Just send me a PM. WeatherTech is less then 5min from work so I'll go that route. They make a good product.

Edit: those mats are in a JL right?

Yes, it technically is installed incorrectly. I did not want to cut a hole in the carpet, so I didn't. I didn't want to deal with unplugging/replugging every time I sprayed the mat down. As it is right now, I can just lift and go. I was just showing that you don't have to cut the hole in the carpet in order to use the all weather mats. I wanted them for dirt protection so my stock carpet liner or stock mats weren't destroyed.

As mentioned, I'm not the use case that these mats were made for, but I made them work for me. I don't plan on spraying the interior down, therefore don't need quick and easy access to drain liquid from the interior.
The carpet has two holes factory cut through it (drivers side and passenger side foot wells) when you bought it. The small oval piece of carpet can easily be replaced once it’s removed. It makes no difference though, since the footwell carpet will be covered by a floor mat.

Read the thread and I did not see this posted anywhere so here it goes...

We purchased my wife's Sahara off the dealer lot and it came with the factory installed MOPAR floor mats (no red logo). I was not a fan of the bump or the open hole that the mat had, it seemed to defeat the purpose of the mat entirely. After learning that the carpet was precut and how to "properly" install the mats I took the plunge and did it. If you are one that likes to remove the mats on a regular basis, I would not recommend installing the drain. If you are looking for a semi-permanent install, then this is for you... "Jeep Informant" has a great tutorial vid on the install and was the one that convinced me to proceed. Here's the Video, enjoy.

Another option is to cut the drain protrusion off of the Jeep mats and install the drain plug into the floorboard and a second one in the mat. Now they are easily removable and no water can get in from underneath.

I did this too...cut the spout off and stuck spare drain plugs in the hole. no I don't have the "drain feature" but they come out much easier and I don't have to worry about them letting water in (yes i'm one of the weird ones who hates a wet interior :))

I decided on weather techs after reading a few threads and watching mopar mod video.

My reasons.
I don’t like the big red jeep too much, I can take the the weather tech sticker off.
Coverage is great up in here in canada where mud and snow will be often.
I don’t want to mess with the plug bc when I am ready I will be going through some water.

I also get a discount on WT here and no big amazon deal on the mopar like you guys.

I have Bestop liners on my JL and weathertech on my WK2 - only the front ones in both. They both provide good coverage and I like them both.
I like the Bestop ones a little better because of the deep thread for slush to settle into. It has a slightly better fitment as well, but that could just be the difference in vehicle styles.

I've got the Rugged Ridge fronts (just don't need the rears) and love 'em. I've run RR front mats in numerous vehicles and always like them.

Didn't hurt that I got the front set for $37 on an Amazon Warehouse Deal, no-brainer compared to $100 for others

For anyone that owns a 2019 or 2020+ Jeep Wrangler Unlimited...DO NOT BUY NOR ORDER THE FACTORY MOPAR SLUSH MATS!!
I really don't understand everyone else's high ratings on these trash mats. I have owned 4 Jeeps now, my last one was a 2014 and now a 2020. The old 2014 mats were all rubber, heavy duty, with deep ridges and grooves for water, ice, snow, mud to drain and keep...but most of all...my feet NEVER slipped.
These new ones are made of trashy plastic/rubber hybrid to cut cost, have NO grooves or ridges to trap water, and they are slippery has heck when your shoes/boots are wet. Why would anyone say these are good?
The ONLY thing good about them is they fit...well...duh...they are suppose to.
Save your money and buy something else.
