One of our Jeeps was recently in a crash. The other driver swerved into the front driver side tire resulting in the jeep driving straight into a hard edged curb. The JLUXR’s steering wheel was off and the ESC light turned on. This is alignment spec after it was aligned. The caster looks way low to me and I’m wondering if it’s possible the control arms or axle are bent now?

Could be control arm or control arm mounts. Strange that both sides are so low. I’d maybe get another measurement from somewhere else before getting crazy.

With a solid front axle, it would have to actually break or twist the axle tubes to get different caster, side to side. But, I agree, the control arms or mounts are suspect. I'd put my money on the lower control arms, since they have a bend already designed into them, which would weaken their strength in compression.

I think you’d be surprised how much flex you can get out of an axle from one side to the other, but something’s either bent or the alignment rack wasn’t setup properly.

Actually that is what I would expect an XR to have. Those stock control arms with the XR 1.5“ lift is gonna give you low caster. I would check for damage while upgrading to the Mopar 2“ lift LCAs.

Minimum caster on these Jeeps is 4.0. Closer to 6.0+ the better… I’d check the LCAs for being bent. ?
