Got my 2.5” AEV lift finished up today. What I wasn’t expecting is now my steering wheel is off center to the left. I’ll bring it in for an alignment Monday.
My question is with the wheel off center any time I’m making a right hand turn the traction control light flashes and you can feel it braking one wheel. It’s a little unnerving. Is this something the alignment I’d going to fix or is it something with the lift?

Steering wheel is off because of the lift. Easy fix, you could do it in your driveway. Getting an alignment will take care of it.

I completely forgot that you can adjust the drag link and recenter the wheel easily. Already done, it fixed the stability/traction control light as well. All is well now. This lift is firm, but coming from sports cars prior I like it.

If your steering wheel is off more than about 15 degrees you will get traction control issues.

It takes less than 5 min for you to fix on your drive way. All you need is a 15mm (if I remember correctly wrench). Drive your jeep on your driveway so it's driving straight. And stop it. Go to the front under the Jeep. Loosen the single clamp screw on the draglink. That is the adjustment clamp near the top right. After loosening, rotate the adjuster by hand until the steering is straight. Test drive. If still slightly off repeat the adjustment. When perfect, tighten the clamp and you are done.

Simplest thing to do. It must be done after every lift install. Does not need an alignment shop to do it.

I appreciate the detailed response. I've spent too much time recently working on suspension of cars with R&P steering (Converted my Chevelle from sloppy steering box to a Flaming River Rack and Pinion) and completely forgot about the drag link adjustment. I knew the wheel was off because of the lift. I made the adjustment earlier and all is well.

Glad you fixed it. Hopefully the explanation will be useful to someone else in the future if they search for the same symptom.
