I thought about this but I don't see enough room under the hood for it. =( I have a friend who installed one into his Smartcar.
What about underneath somewhere?

50611D66-0592-4A12-8DBF-AD785C0D4383.webp I use and like the ARB CKMP12 (12 volt). I like that it’s portable so I can throw in another rig, how the storage case has got just enough room in it for a basic tire puncture repair kit and still enough space for my portable jump start battery.
I also have this - used it when dune bashing in the Middle East, to air up big tires on a Nissan Patrol.
Worked like a charm, and it's portable - when I was done, I could take it over to finish off my friend's as his onboard was slow.

Like I said, I've got the Viair 450P and it is phenomenal and very stout. This one looks to be pretty comparable. I've never used an ARB, but they have a great reputation. Either way looks to be good...

It is nice that you are using your time for such solution. It is good to find a portable system. The 12V system is enough for its use, their are many options available online You can look for it on the internet and purchase online to get good discounts.

I’m probably a little nuts, but then I also can saw I’ve got all my bases covered.

On my JK I installed an Arb under the hood. Ideally I’d like to reuse my Arb if all goes well and I pick up a JL, however having looked under the hood of a JL I’m thinking I may need to put some real thought into where one can be installed or wait for the market to figure out a solution.

As a back up in the Jeep I also run with a 10lb CO2 tank. This has come in handy for running my impact gun or as an air back up when my Arb has over heated (a problem with being mounted over the exhaust manifold).

Something I picked up 2 years ago to carry in my wife’s Ram on a road trip to SoCal was a portable Arb dual compressor. All the benefits of the Arb dual with the ability to be portable in addition to running an impact gun or other air tools.

Is there enough room underneath the passenger/driver's seat to mount it? That would be ideal for me

I haven't picked up a JL yet so I'm not sure. If the JL is anything like the JK, you won't be able to put either of the two standard Arb compressors under the seats as they stand upright. The Arb twin compressor is a possibility with the right bracket to mount the compressor to and attached to the passenger seat bracket. Carolina Metal Masters made the under seat bracket for the JK so I'm sure it'll be just a matter of time before they'll be producing something fro the JL.

I'm swinging by the dealer today to check one out again so I can take a look and snap some pic's.

So, the consensus here is to either go with the ARB CKMP12 or the Viair 450p? Looks like the ARB is roughly $330 vs $258 for the Viair. Any advantage in the ARB to justify the extra coin?

No personal experience with the Viair but my suggestion would be to look at the technical spec’s of each set up. The main things to look at would be CFM air flow (or something like that) and the duty cycle.

At a glance, the Arb looks like it flow 2.65CFM vs 1.80CFM if I read it right so technically it looks like it flow almost 1.5 time more air which will translate into you spending less time airing up your tires.

And, I have no personal experience with the ARB, but I do own a 450P. I honestly don't know what the specs on paper are, but I will tell you this...I took my 33" K02's on my F-150 down to 20 psi then, I aired them up to 60 psi with the 450...it took a grand total of about 5 min per tire. Is the ARB better? I don't know, maybe...is it almost $100 better? Again, I don't know for you, but for me, no. JMHO

If the CFM translates into better air-tool-ability, it’d be worth it to me. Even as someone who barely knows a wrench from a hammer I’ve found uses for my air tools on the trail.

I have no idea if it's still the same, but back in the early JK days the best for the money was the Q industries - SuperFlow MV-50, also known as the Master Flow MF-1050. Flows as much as ViAir 400 (2.54 cfm) but only costs $50-$70. I've had 2 since 2007 and while they both still work fine I did have to replace the chuck & fix the battery clamps on one of them and replace the fuse holder on the other. (One seems to run faster and hotter than the other.) Still, I've got less than $125 in both of them and the couple parts needed to fix them.

I never timed it while I aired up our 35's, but it will air up all all 4 32s ('07-'18 JKUR tires), at once, from 20 PSI to 37 PSI in around 11-12 minutes. I made a hose setup so I can air down / up all 4 tires at once. I hook it up, set the compressor on the fender and sit in the Jeep for 10-11 minutes and then go check the pressure. I'm fine with waiting an extra few minutes to air up vs spending tons for a bigger named compressor. Plus, 90% of places we go have air available, like local wheeling parts, Moab, etc, so don't need to use it every time we go wheeling.

$52 at Amazon right now.

Does anyone make a Central Tire Inflation System for Jeeps like they have on Hummers?

Check out the Viair 400p as well. It puts out 2.3 cfm. I’ve been very impressed with the bang for the buck. It’s fairly quiet too.
