Hey
I have a cheap air compressor with clamps that you have to plug/unplug everytime to the battery. I usually store it in the "under floor compartment" in the trunk, which can be a pain to take out because my 2 doors trunk is full of trail/camping things.
I want to "hard mount" it. I took it apart to make the on/off switch wire longer so I can plug it in auxbeam panel switch. I'll probably cut the clamps wire to reroute them to another switch, with a relay or something.
I'm thinking of putting the compressor in the aux battery location, I already deleted the aux battery. That compartment should give it "some" protection from water and dust. I know heat dissipation won't be great, but I've been airing up my 35" and my friend 37" from 10 to 30psi for 3 years, it get so hot I can't even touch it for 5-10min, but it won't die lol.
Trying not to spend money on a real onboard air system until this one dies.
Anybody used that aux battery location? How is it holding up?
