you cut a 2 inch slit in your carpet

Put the strap below the plastic nut that holds the carpet in place

Pull it through the hole

Put the carpet back and install your jack base. Does not work with the Mopar jack base.

I attached the instructions from AEV.
Thank you!

Been looking at this, I wonder if there is still room for a 6’2” person to sit there without having problems.

I'm 6'2" and have this installed, my GF drove the jeep a bit this weekend and I was comfortable with it mounted there.

This is actually a pretty cool and creative way to mount it. How much do they want for one of these setups? ....Edit....I see, under $100. Not terrible, but a high lift and hood mount wouldn't be much more. The upside is that this weighs next to nothing.

Has anyone had a passenger with long legs complain of it intruding into their foot space or leg room?

Its way up there. If it is in their way then they might be also kicking wires under the dash. While it does eat up some space, its on the vertical wall. The only time I could see someone having it in their way is if they were stretching out their legs and were tall.

Mine fits perfectly in our cargo cubby hole. The angled side sits flush with the tub’s sloped side

I know it is designed to fit there but It's incredibly frustrating to watch someone spread the entire contents of their cargo area around the trail like a yardsale to reach a winch controller, jack base, or some other necessary piece of recovery gear in that cubby.

The $20 to store it in the footwell is money well spent.

Wow had no idea it was designed for our tub lol, no wonder. I can’t imagine much stuff being able to fit on top of the jack base since it’s pretty tall already. When I need it I just pull the floor up and grab it. Even if there’s stuff on top of the floor it’s easy to lift up and grab what you need

Can anyone speak, preferably with experience, regarding how it effects delivery of heat to the passengers feet? I am not familiar with where the floor vents are situated.

Thanks in advance.
