So I spoke too soon. Code came in today on the way back to work. Dammit lol. So if I’m reading all of these posts correctly, my options are turn the snorkel inlet around, ditch the k&n filter or run that mushroom deally? Lucky for me the Banks iDash can clear codes on the fly lol.

I'd go for the mushroom guy, looks way better. Very military-esque.:captain:

so just to be clear, is the filter the only thing you changed?

curious to hear if anyone has done that TSB that AEV refers to on their website..?

Still rolling without a return of the CEL. Looks like the oem filter is the way.

yup. Switched out the k&n drop-in for the oem filter and put the snorkel head back facing forward.

snorkel head faces forward again?
that’s the way it always seemed like it should be to me.
with the k&n filter when we turned the snorkel head backwards the cel would stay cleared.

With or without the TSB software update?

Without, I’ve only got the OEM filter back in. Funny thing is that it’s not happening as frequent as it did with the k&n filter.
Im not heading in to the dealer for that until they’re ready to do the injection pump recall. I’ve got tuning that will get wiped out when they reflash my ecu and it’s a bit of a cross border hike to GDE to have it retuned.

I ran from Albuquerque to Death Valley and back with the snorkel and the front facing scoop with no issues, even doing 80 down the interstate. I now have the pre filter installed. Don’t get the one from AEV, its airflow is too small. Go straight to the skyclone ( or whatever the manufacturer is) and get the larger one. Took about 3 weeks for it to show up. Happy with it. The only downside is there is some turbulence and noise if you have the Sunrider top installed.

I finally got around to wasting $212 for my dealer to install the TSB software update. Less than 500 miles later the P04DB code is back. I haven’t gone back to OEM filter yet, but I’m probably just going to live with this until the thing has an EOC ECU in it next year. One silver lining with that TSB is I saw the list of CEL codes it was addressing and it was probably 15-20 long, so maybe the stealership trip wasn’t all for nothing.

Got mine in and installed it yesterday. Looks great. A couple quick runs to town and back at 100kph and no code thrown yet. JLURD, how long of a drive and how fast were you going when it threw a code?

Brother this looks badass…got a question for you though…do you think the Mopar cowl(a pillar) light mount will fit with this snorkel? These are the mounts and lights I’m using
