Thinking about replacing the stock rims and tires on my 2-door Sport with these Rubicon takeoffs, tire size 255/75R17:

Jeep Wrangler JL Advice on BFG Mud-Terrain T/A tire

While I'd be getting a good deal on the set, I was actually hoping for BFG KO2's in the same size. Wondering how these perform in comparison, especially on the road and in sand/rock/gravel. I never drive in mud or snow, so perhaps I should just pass? Appreciate any advice or actual experience...and happy Jeepin'!

Those must be JK Rubicon take offs? JL's come with 285/70r17's. I'd pass on 5+ year old 32's personally.

Good eye...since I'm not really into fancy rims, I never really pay much attention to them and didn't realize these were from a JK. Assuming that's the case, I'll definitely pass. Much appreciated!

FWIW, I put a set of the 37” KM3’s on my wife’s JLUR with excellent results. Not too much noise, good handling and does well in the rocks/mud of east Tennessee. I’m sure I’ll see similar results next spring when we go out to Moab to wheel.

Thanks for the great info. Normally I wouldn't consider the mud terrain tires since we don't have much mud here in the desert. However, it's still worth considering if a good set of rims/tires comes up for sale locally. Really appreciate it and enjoy Moab!

Mud terrains also perform very well on rock. Here is an interesting comparison all terrains vs. mud terrains. If the link is broken this is a Ronny Dahl video posted about a month ago.

Great video. I never realized just how versatile MTs can be in a variety of offroad conditions, not just mud. Thanks for sharing!

I had a set on my XJ for a little bit. They're really loud and do terrible in rain or ice. I would not buy another set.

Hey neighbor! Here in LV too. What tires did you have on your XJ?

The JK Rubicon takeoff wheels and tires in your post. I ran Wheeler Pass with them once in the winter and that was real fun.

I moved away a couple years ago but haven't updated my profile.
