This info has been very helpful. I'm trying to decide on 39x13.5x17 BFG KM3s and Toyo Open Coutry MTs
I not happy with the 37" Cooper SSTs offroad (on road they're fine) I have on now. I ran 35 KM3s before I upgraded to one tons and MC 3.5" lift.

I ordered 39" km3 for my JTR today. They're on bo with no eta timeline. Will be upgrading from 37" KM3, which I love (other than how bad they hold gravel).
My 37's measure 35 1/4", and from what i've read, the 39's are truer to a 37", so will be a good compromise.

I'm about ready to do the same, but now looking at the Nitto Trail Grappler MT. I loved my 35" BFGs. I just upgraded 1 tons and MC 3.5" lift.

I was torn bt the two as well. Deciding factor was having the nitto ridge on my work truck, and not liking them. They didn't wear great, and got insanely loud after 20k miles.
My dealer said his supplier would likely get the km3 sooner, so I just went with those.

Edit: Just re-read your post and confused the Ridge for the MT. I had a set of MT on a JK once and did not like them either. Rode nice, but wasn't impressed off road. If choosing those, I would go with Toyo MT. I've had 3 sets of 37" on my Superduty and love them for a mt.

You really can’t go wrong with BFGs. They are a great company. I just got a set of 39s to replace the old 40/14.5/17s I had. Nice being hooked up with BFG. The 39s are a really nice riding tire.

Does anyone have concern about the ply rating for this tire and off-road crawling? I'm currently running a 10-ply and I'm concerned about dropping down to a 6-ply and avoiding punctures or tears. Anyone share some thoughts on this?

That's very helpful. I'm running Cooper SSTs 37s now and like them on road, but they didn't grip as well as my BFGs did. I also considered the same running small fact you called out and thought they would fit nicely.

Sorry to go a little off topic here, but I'm considering the 37x13.5 KM3 (if I can find any inventory in the entire country). Do you have any front photos and what is the backspacing on those wheels?

Would love to bump up to the 39s but trying to convince myself that that is unnecessary.

You know as soon as you put on the 37s on you're going to be thinking of 39s. LOL

Here’s mine with 2”mopar and 3/4” front spacer. 17x9.5” -18 on 37” km3
