Hi JJ
thanks for the info. Did you use the etrailer products and option?

I will have to watch the Quadratec video again to better understand the wiring routing and difficulty level. Seems to be doable.

I have a mental map of what I'm going to load in the trailer, assuming I can get the kit installed before the move in ~4 weeks. lol
I've used eTrailer for my RV needs after a lot of fellow RVers recommended them over some others. They aren't the lowest prices, but they have been rock-solid for information and service.

Quadratec has been good to me so far. I think it'll come down to what's available right now, then pricing based on your timeline.

Late edit, if you want to go Mopar I second contacting Bennie @AllMoparParts.com. He might have a "special deal just for you!" (Something we'd hear overseas all the time.~)

Would you recommend one over the other - eTrailer and Quadratec?

I will definitely talk to Bennie as well.

Etrailer is a solid vender. Most of their stuff will be from the standard trailer industry guys: Curt, Drawtite, etc.

I had the tow package installed (7-4 pin harness plus hitch receiver) plus my Lod destroyer rock sliders for $1063 tax included at the dealer. Now I did buy my jeep there and owner said I could add whatever at cost. But I think $1000 for just tow package is decent.

That's a good deal to be honest. Tow package and 2x rock sliders for 1000 bucks including tax is a great deal.

eTrailer has been a very solid retailer. I've had fewer dealings with Quadratec but found them good, too.

worth it to me. It helped that I coached the owner when I was playing college football. He remembered me and gave me a good deal on the Jeep and extras.

Hey Jamie,
Thanks! Do you have a pic or two of your wiring harness routing during/post installation?
Is the heat shrinking a necessity or is it just you wanted it to look cleaner and fit more snug?

No I did not take any pics. The heat shrinking is not necessary. I did it to look cleaner and my OCD for wiring/electronics. Any terminal lugs or connections will get solder from me. How many times do you have to troubleshoot wiring on a trailer/truck when you haul something? I've done it too many times. Now I take the extra time so I don't have to work on it later.

I agree with heat shrinking all connections. If you live or travel where it rains or snows frequently, you’ll be glad you sealed the connections. And don’t use those quick connectors.
