I just put the Ace Engineering sliders on. Not the least expensive option, but ROCK SOLID.

I have the ACE rock rails and they integrate perfectly with the OEM Rubicon rails. They also act as an impromptu step. That said, I bought mine Summer 2020 for $535 less $100 discount for Father's Day sale. I have no idea why they have nearly doubled in price - they are made of steel not unobtainium. [and...I don't blame general inflation :)]
I do really like the ACE rails too, price is very high now, I don't think I could justify it.

It's not so much general inflation, but my company has seen metal and material prices steadily increase over the last couple years. Between supply chain slowdowns and lack of supply our material costs have way more than doubled, maybe even tripled. We generally mark up our material costs 35%. So lets say something cost us $100 in materials to produce, but that's now tripled in cost, that's a $270 increase in cost. Now lets assume we don't do our powder coating in house and the shop down the street does it, and their material costs have gone up, so they've doubled or tripled their costs. I'll assume labor cost stayed the same. Ya I could see the price cost increase being justified in this. Not saying this is exactly what happened, but I know just due to material costs alone, some of the carbon fiber parts we sell had to have the costs doubled in price, just so we can make the same profit.

Just food for thought.

You make some good points about availabilty of raw materials, but doesn't a rising tide lift all ships? Why haven't the other manufacturers' products doubled in price? That's why I made the comment in brackets about inflation. Sometimes vendors use the economic environment as air cover. All of that said, the ACEs are perfect for me. I'm just not sure that they are $1,000 worth of perfect.

I was looking for the same, and I settled on Barricade rock sliders. I've just placed my order today.

That's a fair point, but it could have a lot to do with regional supply, what vendor you use, how much of the production is done in house (are you shipping them to a vendor and back?), and also what volume of material you order. Higher volume buyers get priority and better price. If ACE is doing all local or American production, and their competitors are having their product partially or totally made overseas that could be a difference. Could also be the quality of materials used, as there are A LOT of options for steel. I'm not trying to defend ACE, because I don't know the real details, I'm just trying to throw out some possible explanations for what you're saying. ya know, just talkin.

We do rock crawl when necessary. It just isn’t the primary focus.
thx for the feedback
Rocks will wreck body mounted sliders. I spent the money to upgrade to LOD signature, but I was dumb and spent it after creasing the body.
