The manual references a sensor behind the 'lower grill'. Has anybody spotted it? I'm hoping it's not somewhere in the grill that will be an issue with aftermarket bumpers/lights/etc. If someone has spotted it, mind taking a photo?

What page in the manual? I will take a look.

I looked and didn't see any sensors. My guess is those in charge of the Owner's Manuals copied it from the other vehicles that have ACC (manual for Grand Cherokee says the exact same thing).

That's wonderful news, thank you.

Just for argument's sake - which part of the difference in these two pictures is really bothering you that you can no longer see with the ACC?
How can I tell if there is a low flying plane that is about to do an emergency landing on the highway if I have the ACC?

I am relatively tall and like sitting high up in the seat. In that position the rear view mirror and ACC camera were in my line of sight. Granted I did not sit in it for too long, I was just hesitant about not seeing things in that blind spot as easily in parking lots etc.

How do you like it so far? Has that been an issue at all? Its too late for me to add it to my factory order but i'd love to know if its not a distraction at all when driving.

Wouldn't matter - the ACC/FCW would stop you in time anyway! :cwl:

I think I could see how you might not like it now that I've put a few more miles on with it. I'm right at 6' tall and find myself ducking down a little bit because of the mirror being in my way. If the sensors weren't there you could just look over the mirror.

I’ve been playing with the ACC in my JLUS. so far on,y on the highway and on,y in light traffic. If I set the ACC TO 60 it will maintain 60 until either a car pulls in front of me and then it slows my Jeep maintaining a safe distance. I overtake a vehicle and again the ACC slows down the vehicle maintaining a safe distance. In either of the 2 scenarios once there is no vehicle in front the Jeep speeds up to the set max speed. It doesn’t gun the throttle to get back to speed but gradually increases speed. If you need to pass someone just stomp on gas pedal and pass the vecichle you want to pass. When you take your foot off the gas the Jeep will slow down to the speed you set and maintains that speed. As far as stop and go traffic or emergency braking through the ACC I don’t know since I have not tried that and FCA has yet to publish a manual for the 2019’s in either pdf form or hard copy. The users manual that you get does not go into the ACC functionality. Hey @JeepCares where is the manual for th 2019’s?
Hi @JohnnyB54,

You can access a PDF version of the 2019 Owner's Manual at the following link: https://www.mopar.com/jeep/en-us/care/owners-manual.html

I feel like chiming in just once that any of us who ordered with the Advanced Safety Group (ACC & Forward Collision Warning) only need it to save someone's life or health just once to make the equipment, the cost, and any additional blindspot worth more than any amount in the world.

Someday soon these features will be standard equipment, but until then I don't know how anyone can not choose to pay $795 MSRP for it - and then hope it is never needed.

How much would I pay to have the Jeep stop or slow if I miss a child on a bike... incalculable, and it happens with nice people like us every day.

FWIW - I just wanted it for the ACC, not necessarily the FCW. I'm already loving the ability to set it at what speed I want to go, but if there's someone in front of me and I can't pass them it just follows at a set distance until I can pass. It's great! And the FCW is a very nice bonus for the reasons you mentioned, hopefully I never need it but it's there just in case.

Jeep even thought to include a cover for the unit for when the windshield is folded down.
What does the cover look like? Does it come installed? I have adaptive cruise control and didn't want to fold the windshield because I wasn't sure.

Thanks.

It looks like a plastic shoe box lid that has instruction decal on the inside and a raised texture on the outside that resembles a topographical map. I've never heard of them being preinstalled because it would require leaning the windshield forward to get it off. I found mine in the floor cubby just inside the tailgate. Cheers!

Just checked mine and I didn't get it. Could you please post a pic of the item or let me know if there's a part number?

Many thanks.
