When the adaptive cruise is on in my Subaru there's an indicator in the center of the dash that shows when the brake lights are on, that is helpful. The two systems are quite different, in a scenario say in the right lane on the interstate coming up on a semi truck, the Subaru will "see" the truck and back off the gas, sort of downshift (it's a CVT, so the equivalent) and coast up to the truck and hold at the distance setting, only braking if the truck slows down. My JL on the other hand will continue at speed right up to the hold distance then abruptly hog on the brakes and then keep that distance. Honestly, I hate the Jeep's adaptive system.
