AC no longer working

Hello! I have a 2017 Wrangler Sahara and my AC suddenly stopped working. When the AC is on, it blows nothing but warm air. I unfortunately learned this while driving in a downpour and need to defrost my windows! Anyone else ever had this issue?

Julie, your jeep is a JK, this forum is specifically for the JL wrangler.

However, could you describe how "suddenly" it stopped blowing cold? I'm not super familiar with the AC controls on a later year JK, but I don't believe it has zone temperature control so that shouldn't be the problem. You may need to head in to the dealer to troubleshoot the AC itself, as there is nothing that you can about problems such as a loss of refrigerant.

I can't imagine you would need your AC charged so soon? My 17JKU is working just fine in regards to the AC. Maybe, you have a pinhole in a hose? I would ask your dealer to put dye in the AC and see if there is a leak.

If you're on a defrost setting likely the temperature is set high, not cold. The AC being used in defrost is to dry the air, not cool it. While the AC will cool the air a little while it is drying it, the air will still come out warm because it's also being heated before it come out of the vents, based on the temperature setting.
