Has anyone had success using JSCAN to bleed the ABS pump? I flushed brake fluid yesterday just because it was dark in color and a few years old. My system has never been opened. I performed a pressure bleed, got clear fluid at all 4 corners and no bubbles. Then I attempted the JSCAN ABS flush and the app errored out 7 times during the procedure, losing connection to the module. I gave up on the JCAN flush at that point. I have changed gear ratio and tire size with JSCAN, and eliminated my FAD, so I have had success with the app, however the ABS pump bleed function did not work for me.
I was able to use J-scan to do an ABS bleed 2 times now. No issues. Im wondering if your OBD Adaptor is whats causing your disconnects. during ABS Bleed is constantly communicating back and forth, when changing settings in reads, then writes so intermittent connections may not affect it.
Bringing this back up from the dead because my new-to-me 2024 JLU-R XR has mushy brakes...
I have a Tazer, which from what I have read should first be unmarried but left physically connected to act as the SGW bypass. Correct me if I'm wrong on that?
I have downloaded JScan and will be plugging in the OBD-II adapter when it arrives (I ordered one of the recommended units, OBD-II Adapter).
My question is, for those that have used the JScan ABS bleed procedure, did you have success blindly following the JScan steps, or did you follow the steps as modified in the thread that was cross-referenced here? Cross-referenced thread...
Specifically, the JScan procedure tells you to open the bleeder valve, you press the GO button, and then it manipulates the system for a while, and eventually tells you to close the bleeder valve and you're done. In the cross-referenced thread however, the author says NOT to open the bleeder valve until the ABS pump has done it's thing once or twice (I'm paraphrasing...), open the valve and let the pump finish doing it's thing, and then close it when prompted. Is this what everyone does?
I note the cross-referenced thread was specific to a JK, not a JL, so I'm curious if this is why the process might be different?
Can be done with Tazer Mini easily. Two methods... try shifting into gear without entering pass code after starting. Or just do lockdown mode for winching. Be careful. Barely crack the bleed screw with a bleed line attached.
