2021 JLUR. 21,000 miles. Stock wheels and KO2 tires.

I just started getting abnormal TPMS sensor readings. Normally run stock KO2 285/70R 17 at 34-35 PSI. Only time I see the low tire warning come on is when we air down to about 18 PSI. When we air up to 34-35 the sensor goes off.

But today the warning is on at 35 psi and what's strange is that was the low tire at 33 (cooler temps here this week). I added 2 psi and even after driving that tire still indicates low pressure even though it has more air then the other tires.

I read up on the TPMS in the owners's manual. Does not seem to be any action I can take. Perhaps it will reset after I have driven a bit more?

I have also been wondering if there is a way to set the baseline pressure for the TPMS as 34-35 seems to be about right for this tire vice 37 psi that seems a little over inflated.

Is there there any corrective action I can take regarding the warning light for the left rear tire or resetting the base line pressure?

Thanks.

Try this..

Inflate all your on the ground tires to exactly 37# and then take the JL for a short drive. You should see the EVIC warning go out. Now re-adjust your tire pressures.

With those stock wheels and KO2 tires...... During colder weather have tires inflated to 35# and in the Summer have inflation at 32#.

Note: Inflate/adjust tire pressures when the vehicle has been parked overnight, etc. .... when the tires are cold.

I just updated my TPMS on my JL to 28psi using JScan. On my Wildpeaks I need to run at about 30psi so I have full contact across the tire according to my chalk testing.

Worked. It's reset. Thank much.

This is not abnormal. I forget the electrical engineering term for it, but it means you need to fill higher for the alert to turn off and then you can lower it back down. A hypothetical example is you must fill a tire to 36+ to get the alert to go away but then it won’t turn back on until it comes down to 30. This is to prevent a situation where a switch rapidly changes between 2 states because taking one state triggers the condition to switch back to the other state.
