If you have good fittings, the loss is not measureable. Still, the point is to check the pressures, before messing around chasing red herrings. For my old JL, I just use 134. Cheap and works the same. No freon police in my neighborhood anyway.Ehh, with the price of Freon these days, and given you will lose a little bit just from checking, I’d check data and obvious circuits first. If access to a scanner is available, you can check refrigerant pressure directly without loss of expensive 1234yf.
