Happened to me today...

Mine started Monday and has done it twice now. Does it only get worse? I just took my jlur in Friday for the U62 recall.

This just started on mine this weekend. Called dealer-they are clueless. I’m dropping it off on Thursday. Wondering how long this process will take them...
I've had the same issue for a couple of months.
Just noticed mine doing this for the first time over the weekend. Will have to see how often it occurs.
Mine has now been doing this for 4 days... My dealership is clueless as well, so I am going to need to educated them on the problem. Also, they refuse to offer a loaner, and are saying they can get me a rental which I will have to cover. Not acceptable, especially with my MaxCare warranty.
I have just started having this problem too. I am trying to decide if I want to have it fixed or not. Apparently the long wait is not unusual with this problem. Maybe I will wait to the end of the warranty for the fix so my new Jeep isn’t in the back lot for weeks.
Hi Everyone,
We're very sorry to hear about the odometers not reading correctly. At your earliest convenience, please send JeepCares a private message with your VIN and mileage as our team would like to look into this further.

Hey just wanted to see if anyone else had any luck resolving this issue? I got my first oil change this week and also had the U62 recall completed. Right after leaving the dealer I noticed the 999,999 on the odometer. It will pop up every time the Jeep is started and than go back to the correct mileage within a few miles. I did try to do a reset of the ECU this evening and disconnected the main battery and it operated and read the correct mileage. As soon as I reconnected the main battery the 999,999 popped u again. I have a feeling this may have something to do with the U62 recall update. Any further thoughts?

Mine is back in the shop to get the cluster replaced. I did have the issue before the recall was completed.

If you go back and only read each of my postings, your question will be answered
I believe that I was the first one to introduce this problem. JeepCares got involved, and after diagnosis it was the cluster unit. So, get them involved, tell your dealerships service to look into this. It has been well documented.

Thanks, when you mean cluster unit is that the entire cluster in the dash or is this a separate unit in elsewhere that feeds the dash? Just trying to get a grasp on it before I talk to the service department. Does the entire dash need to be tore apart to replace?

I still find it strange that is goes back to displaying the actual mileage upon start up with the main battery disconnected utilizing the secondary battery. I tried to two separate times now and every acts normal when the main battery is disconnected.

Appreciate all your help!

Its the unit right in front of you. Once replaced I have not had any issues. Yes weird 999999 would show up then after a mile back to normal. There are 3 computers on board, one in the cluster. The other 2 were recording the correct information.

i took my JLUR in today and the Cluster has to be replaced, they have it on order.
Also had them look at the steering since mine was built in March. It states they found a open TSB and performed the reconfiguration for the vehiicle.

When your cluster was replaced did the mileage reset to 0. Or the correct mileage?

Mine went in today and all they did was update the software for the dash. Service was told bye Jeep that would fix it.
I’ll update if the problem returns.

Interesting my cluster unit was replaced, and that did the trick. I think i was the first to report this and have it fixed.

Just had my software updated Thursday for the fix. I was originally told that the cluster would have to be replaced. So far so good.

Mine got a software update as well. Has been 3 weeks and no return of the issue. Before the fix, was happening every other day.

I had the cluster unit replaced and it took care of mine and with over 4K miles to date has not had an issue. I sure hope the software fix works for you.

Hi everyone - first time Jeep owner here and I feel defeated. Mine is doing this, my dealer is clueless AND I lose the 2H 4H N 4L display too. Has anyone had both of these problems?
