With the LEDs, you cant pull full amps for the trailer circuit from the tails or you'll error out. The four flat kits will pull all the signal from the tails, but will need a 12 volt source to provide the relayed power to the trailer lights. Normally this means a single wire run to the battery positive.
Spot on. That's what I was compelled to do when installing this 4-flat harness, via the red wire ring terminal.

Installed the CURT 13392 Class 3 Trailer Hitch this morning. High quality product for racks or towing. I have a trailer I tow for lawn work as well as a carrier rack. It would have taken 15 minutes, but the bumper bar had a weld seam on the top rear that was blocking the fit. After a few minutes with my Dremel and a grinding bit I was good to go. I was able to leave the bumper spacer in place and reused the 2 bolts that were already there to match the integrated nuts. I combined with 2 from the CURT install kit for the empty holes. Bolts need to be torqued to 110lb.

hey everyone, been thinking about picking up a 4xe Rubicon and wanted to know if anyone has had experience with a dirt bike carrier attached to the hitch but from what I have read, many have said it has a big adverse effect on handling. Also, don't want to damage the frame over long term use. I know the other option would be getting a trailer but am I better off with a Gladiator?

Thanks in advance!

It's rated for 350 lbs tongue weight, so whether it's too much would depend on the bike. :)

I have a small cargo platform that mounts to the hitch, and I haven't noticed any handling problems. I put a clamp on the hitch connection to keep it from wiggling; that may be why it seems fine.

Thanks for the response. Its a klx300r so I think its about 260lbs or so.....so that plus the weight of the carrier and I think I'm just below the capacity.

Wonder why you wouldn’t just tap into the 12V in the trunk? Not like its really in use while towing.

You certainly could.
