4L loud bang sound

Hi everyone. Its my first post here. Here is my situation, I was playing in the sand over here in Saudi desert And I got stuck so I engaged the 4low while filly stopped and gear on N. I tried to get off with no luck. I shifted to 4H again but still no luck. I shifted back to 4L the I put the gear on M1 drove a bit the shited to R accelerated a bit the all of the sudden a VERY LOUD BANG!!! and my jeep shifted from 4L to N and the gear is on R. I changed the gear to N tried to shift it back to 4L I got a warning message to check 4wd system.

So I tried to engage 4H and it works! So I had to be pulled by my friend and I got off the sand safely! Turn off the car and turn it back on and engaged the 4L to test and it works!



Now what is that loud bang sound? Why it happened? And what do I have to check to make sure nothing has been damaged?



My jeep is 2019 JLUR with 35” tiers

And 2” mopar lift kit.

Sounds like the transfer didn't engage as if it was stuck somehow. Get under it and make sure nothing is broken and then try engaging 4hi and then 4 low again.

Thanks for replying, I just checked down there everything looks good drive shaft, u joints, yoke etc all good

Ok, try engaging and then slowly driving in 4hi and then 4 low

You should always try to be moving when shifting into low.

I think the the bang was from shifting while revving a bit. Don't do that. Lol.

If you are saying reversing YES the bang happened while reversing

I read it as you had shifted while applying throttle.
It may have just dropped into 4lo or 4 hi (your post is a bit confusing) and that was the bang.

Honesty. Get it on level ground and go through all your gear options. If it goes in and out of 4hi and lo and no war into lights, then I would say you're good.

Yes, just don't do hard turns while in 4hi or lo, you will bind the diffs on a hard packed surface.

I just tried it couple of times and it seems everything is good and gears are engaged with no issue

It was either tcase or tranny. I'd say you're good notwithstanding.
