I have an 18 Rubicon 3.6 auto jlu with 38s and I regeared to 5.13s. The shifts in 2 wheel and 4 high feels good but 4 low seems to shift funny when wheeling. I don't have much experience with 4 low because I never really used it before but now I'm hitting obstacles where 4 low world be better but I'm a little hesitant because it feels like it's really shifting hard. Any insight would be great maybe I'm just not used to it just want some input. Thanks.

Rolling it in neutral at a couple MPH during shifting helps.

Not what I meant, it goes into 4 low fine. I'm referring to shifting from 1st to 2nd to 3rd and so on. It hard shifts and feels like it holds gears too long maybe.

Oh, 10-4. Same for us.

I only use it in Auto for speed. Obstacles M 1 or 2, Trail Riding M 3-5

You’re just feeling the lower gear ratio now, completely normal to have a bit more aggressive shifting in 4 low.

4 low changes the shift points in the transmission. You'll get used to it.

Yeah, it's just how it works. You're multiplying the torque by four in four-low, so it's got an incredible amount of torque in comparison to two-wheel or four-wheel "high". Re-gearing increased the torque by another 25%, more or less,

It's normal for automatics to feel quite a bit different when in 4 low. The main reason is simply the torque multiplication of the 4 low gearing. 4 low on a non-Rubicon is almost 3 times lower overall gearing and a Rubicon it's typically 4 times. Plus on newer vehicles the ECU usually changes the shifting characteristics on top of that. If it shifts fine in 2 or 4 high I would fully expect how it's shifting in 4 low to be "normal".
On a side note when actually off-road on a trail (more than just wet grass or a snow covered road) I spend more time in 4 low. Any continuous slow speed driving over rough terrain or obstacles is just easier on the trans in low range.
