Another update done this week, this one more in the preparedness category.
I put together a "get home pack" for my 2-door Jeep. It has everything I will need to live for a week if my Jeep leaves me stranded in the middle of nowhere and I have to abandon it and walk out. It fits perfectly on the American Adventure Labs slide, in front of the fridge, behind the driver's seat, and under the Overland Storage Shelf. And since it slides out with the fridge slide it is easy to access. The backpack will stay in my Jeep at all times.
Contents in the bag include a 20 F Sleeping bag, tent/tarp, emergency blanket, camp stove, fire starter, mess kit, bowie knife, multitool, paracord, carabiners, duct tape, MREs, energy bars, water bottles, life straw, water purifier pills, soap, flashlight, light sticks, TP, 1 wk Rx meds, compass, map, pen, notepad, signal mirror, sewing kit, first aid kit, eyeglasses repair kit. I am debating if I should make up a rucksack that can have a change of clothes. But I think I could wear the same clothes long enough to get somewhere that has cell phone service. I would also like to add a small saw or hatchet to the outside using the molle attachments.
Other items are already in the Jeep and can be grabbed before starting my hike, such as a pocketknife, gloves, coat, more water, etc.
