So tomorrow will be 7 days since I picked up my Rubicon. I currently have 300 miles and believe I have learned many of the features of the Uconnect radio system.

I live in Maryland and found a vehicle I was interested in the Sunday before last, it was a crystal granite Rubicon loaded with black hard top. Talked to someone about the vehicle and scheduled an appointment to come see the vehicle on Saturday. I arrived at the dealership at 1pm Saturday only to learn the vehicle was sold earlier that morning. Sales lady claimed she called me earlier that morning but checked phone no call or text, needless to say I was not to happy. So after venting to the sales manager I left for a 30 mile drive back home.

Around 6:00 pm later that day I get a phone call from a local dealer salesman I spoke with before and he new what I wanted, so he called telling me he had exactly the Rubicon I wanted. After that morning incident I was losing faith in dealers but only 15-20 minutes away I told him I would come take a look. The Rubicon was what I was looking for loaded except for tow package, not a deal breaker so I bought it.

The vehicle I got rid of was a 2014 Mercedes E 4 matic loaded so I wanted a vehicle that had all the convinces I came to like. I work downtown DC 2 blocks from the capital so not a fun commute. But the Rubicon does a great job on DC streets it just glides over bad patches of road were before it was like dodging pylons in my sedan.

I followed the book on break-in, and after 300 miles I can feel a difference in the motor, it revs smoother and feels a little more frisky than with 12 miles on it, the 8 speed is butter smooth and you do not feel the shifts and seems to be in right gear most of the time. I got 347 miles on the first tank of gas of mostly city driving, but was surprised it only took 18 gallons to fill, it was on E and computer said 19 miles remaining.

overall really liking the Rubicon, just plain fun to drive and actually a nice commuter vehicle.

If you don’t mind what dealer was the first one and which did you eventually buy from. I’m I. Maryland as well and bought from Ourisman in Clarksville. Great buying experience, just a few hiccups with my bank.

Drive mine to DC a few weeks ago. Can’t wait to take the top off and head back into DC.

I’m surprised by the gallons to fill too. I have filled twice now off of E and each time about 18-19 gallons with very little miles remaining.

Dodge does the same thing on their Rams - empty isn't really empty. I play a game with my wife and see how long I can go with it saying "Low Miles" instead of a number (switches to Low Miles under 10 miles left). I know that when it hits Low Miles I have at least a gallon left

now, that's all in a Ram 3500, diesel, 31gal tank. Last time I did this (friday) I put in 29.3gal - at 18mpg (was on interstate, travelling around 75mph) I had roughly 30 miles left in the tank.

not sure if I would do that with a gas engine (diesel I have two fuel filters etc) but it's a fun game none-the-less. after a while you learn the vehicle and fill-up capacity. Knowing there's a 21.5gal tank and when it says "E" it's at 19, well basic math tells you that you can get just a bit farther ;)

I dealt with several dealers, Tysons Jeep, Clarksville Jeep, Darcars silver spring, and the dealer I mentioned was Jeep of Alexandria VA, Tysons and Clarksville are very customer service friendly, wanted to buy from Tysons but they didn't have the color and options I wanted...

The same happened to me yesterday, first fill up was on E and I was only able to put 16.8 gallons in it, this is after I kept trying until it burped a bit of fuel.

bought mine from Darcars Jeep in New Carrolton MD, Clarksville is closer to me, at this point they were all giving very good discounts off of sticker/invoice price, but Tysons and Clarksville set the mark for my negotiations, planning to service mine at Clarksville, got a good vibe from them....

Dealer sold me my RUBICON JLU with a full tank. I was at 310 miles when it hit EMPTY and said low miles. I then took my time and slowly filled it up. It took 22.5 Gallons. It looks like I’m going to get 350+ miles out of this full tank. My guess is if I take the risk and drive 25 more miles after it says “LOW MILES”, I will get 375+ miles. That would put me at 16.67 MPG. I drive around town 25-50 MPH
