1. I can't find much information about Hooke Road products online. Amazon Seller, I am guessing the products come over via shipping container.
- Don't waste my time with their products, hit or miss, or good deal go for it??
2. Dumb question - How does the Wrangler "check-in" when reporting mileage via the Mopar Owner's Site? Sport JLU Altitude (if model makes a difference)
I tried to search for #2 on the boards, but I wasn't confident with my search verbiage. With that being said, I lumped two questions into one thread.
I appreciate your time and any response, good or bad.
Thanks!

#2 - Satellite.
For whatever reason, I don't have XM. Is there a satellite antenna regardless?
Or; is it a completely separate ordeal?

The Wrangler has a constant 4G cell connection built into the UConnect and "phones home" regularly. While it's no secret they monitor the status of the vehicle, it does make you wonder what else they're monitoring.

They can do over the air updates (there are some posts of how some received the updates recently and lost iPod capability. And I know when they are being transported from the factory a message us sent to the transport system letting it know each time it has been started.
Might be cellular. Part of the wifi hot spot or call for help feature.

Since you have a Sport, I think things are different for you (and me).

To the best of my knowledge, there are no over the air updates, vehicle "health" reports, or UConnect tracking on a Sport/Sport S. I think you will have the satellite antenna regardless.

The only way my mileage gets updated on the Mopar site or app is if I update it myself.

It's an Altitude, though. That package offers the 8.4" UConnect.

I wasn’t aware of that difference - sorry!

I guess I’m not up to date on the Jeeps that “phone home.”

I disconnected the 4G power connectors. Since I wasn’t using it for anything, I pulled power from it. It’s kind of sad the Jeep recovery (GPS) system isn’t included. If they already pay for the 4G service, kick in the anti theft for a year. My dealership didn’t mention anything about it. Another reason I’ll skip that one, and use a different dealership.
I agree, it makes you wonder what else they monitor. I’m guessing mods so they can void warranties! Haha
I didn’t put two and two together in respect to disconnecting the 4G battery supply with the loss of auto-mileage updates.
I’m an idiot.
If I think about it, I add my mileage on the Mopar site. I don’t really see it as a necessity.
annnnd, I only have the 7” screen.
One last note: I honestly have zero idea of any additional features I may be missing out on. I’m telling you guys, my dealership was an absolute joke.
Sign papers, tossed me the keys, told me to come back in a few days to pick up the Jeep tool kit along with the manual and kicked me out. I guess they wanted me to stop calling them out on BS in the middle of their double wide trailer. (The building was near completion) New dealership.
