Just be super light on the throttle or you'll scatter the rear axle or snap an axle shaft.
Not hardly. Guess you've never taken the front drive shaft off a truck and shifted into four low and drove it around before either have you?

I had a 1989 Toyota SR5 pickup that would do this beautifully. 4 cylinder 5 speed manual. Just leave the manual locking hubs unlocked... I would do this to move trailers around, especially backing up. I would love to be able to do this with my JL 6 speed.

To be honest, I have had many 4x4 vehicles over the years and never once required 2wd in low range. 4Lo did just fine with or without the rear locker.

Go ahead. Not my driveline. I've done this frequently on trucks with locking hubs, unlocked. Gently.

I've done it as well with no ill effect and I was not easy on it. You're just being contrary for the sake of being contrary and not backing it up with any evidence whatsoever.

Which is fine you're allowed your opinion but that doesn't mean I can't call your opinion stupid, because it is.

With 114hp I could see it coming in handy. On a JL that has more than double the power, probably nearly double the weight, and yet is still only rated to tow 2k pounds I still don't see the need. There were 2lo kits available for TJs, but they were also available with an under powered 4cyl. If the aftermarket demand was there, there would be kits for the JL.

Pulling heavy enough loads on pavement that you need low range...in a JL with a 2klb tow capacity....with a clutch known to explode or catch fire with no trailer? What could possibly go wrong?
Well it was my 09 jk (wrong clutch) and with a tow strap attached to the back hook not the trailer hitch. It was an F150 that lost it's reverse and I had to pull him up a hill so he could go forward. I didn't want to yank the frame or break the strap. Only went about 100'. After disconnect it has hard to go to 2H. The transfer was bound

I used to have a Chevy luv 1/4 ton and u could do the same. That's one reason I want to replace my uni bearings with New hubs and cone bearings with locking hubs. I'm old fashioned! LoL

I am going to try and rewire the FAD on mine to a switch to achieve 2 low. I got the harness pigtail and a relay so I can control the ground circuit for activation. I will use Jsacan to disable the factory FAD harness and wire it to my switch panel for manual control of the FAD. From one of the other 2 low threads on here it is keyed 12 volt, ground and switched ground to control the FAD.

If it doesn't work out or if I don't like it I can just plug the factory harness back in and re-enable the FAD in Jscan.

The offroad trail riding is the best with 2 low and shift back into 4 low when needed. It removes the 4wd binding when turning on high traction surfaces.

The only problem with the way this discussion is going is ur talking about the FAD. That disconnects the right from the left front axles shafts so that locking hubs aren't needed. I'm talking disconnecting the front drive shaft inside the transfer case while in 4WL. 100' on pavement in 4 low and I had a hard time shifting to 2H. When it did u could hear the bang from the transfer case.
