I have a Jeep 240v charger installed in my garage. The app says I am getting 247v at the charger. When I attempt to charge it the Jeep charges to a 110v elapsed time schedule (about 9 hrs). We recently took it on a road trip and charged it at a ChargePoint charger. Same result. Am I missing a setting or something? Thanks in advance.

There is no setting to adjust the amperage. There is definitely something wrong with your Jeep. Probably only seeing voltage on one of the 2 legs so it's only charging on 120v instead of the full 240v. Gonna need to go to the dealer unfortunately.

The Jeep cant choose voltage, it is what it is. There are only 2 current carrying pins for AC through the J1772 connector - It's only single/split phase not 3 phase.

What EVSE is installed in your garage? When you say app, is it that EVSE's "smart" app? Is the EVSE plugged into an outlet on the wall or hardwired? Do you know what circuit breaker it goes to? Does it take two slots in your panel (thus 220V) or just one (110V). How many amps is the breaker rated for?

That voltage seems high, potentially out of acceptable range. It might not be measured accurately however.

The EVSE may very well not be configured properly. They can be "downrated" so they don't exceed
the capacity of the circuit wiring and breaker. This may be configured in the app or with jumpers or DIP switches inside the box.

When you plug the EVSE into the vehicle, the EVSE tells the Jeep's built in charger what current capacity (amps) it is capable of providing. Then the Jeep's charger will connect and start drawing on that power to charge the battery.

Depending on many sensors and data it will decide how fast to charge the battery - temperature is the primary concern. So it is possible that if everything else is okay, perhaps there is an issue with sensors or the charger or battery cooling systems - but you'd likely have a message in the EVIC or a check engine light if that were the case.

Thanks very much for both replies.
I have the Jeep JuiceNet charger installed that I purchased from the local Jeep dealer. The app is the EVjuicenet app. Electrician installed a 240v outlet on the ceiling and the charger is plugged into that. Dedicated circuit breaker in the wall panel. Two slot 40 amp circuit breaker.

So I took my 4xe to my local dealer and explained that although I have a 240 charger my vehicle charge time is as if I’m charging with a 120v charger. I said it also happens when charging at other chargers. After talking with their service people they said they had no clue what would cause it and would have to talk with Jeep. Not sure I want them to touch my Jeep.

they'll need to plug it into their L2 charger and monitor the IDCM and battery module status. Clearly it's charging at a very low current, the question is why - hooking up their scan tool will show them live data. But yeah, not all dealers have competent and available PHEV techs, or service writers, apparently.

Update on my charging issue. I found a dealer that seemed to know a little about 4Xe’s. They said there was a software update specific to this problem and updated the vehicle. I got it home and had the same problem. I took it to a public charger and it charged to level 2times so I deduced it was my charger. I was ready to buy a new one but took one last look at the JuiceNet app. Under settings I found that the max charging rate was set at 6. I moved it to 32 and bingo it charged to level 2. Simple fix that I should have found much earlier. Oh well - at least it’s fixed. Thanks for the feedback that got. Hope this may help someone else in the future.

That's great! I'm glad you found it. I think I suggested that, but hadn't used the app so couldn't say where to look.

Be aware that for public stations particularly where there's multiple units installed, they may be sharing a circuit and rate limited as well.

Good thing you didn't let the dealer touch your jeep. ;)

Wow, I didn’t know that about the public chargers. Thanks for the info.
