2026 Rubicon X Remote Start via App?

What do I look for on a 2026 JL window sticker to know if the Jeep App on my phone will be able to Remote Start and/or unlock the vehicle?

I love the ablity to remote start our current JT, & my wife's Grand Cherokee L, by using the Jeep app on my phone.

Yah, I know there's a remote start button on the key fob, but that's not much help since I don't work for me. Why not? I park my JT at work, then leave in a company vehicle for the day. Also of note, I attend a lot of sporting events, seated outside of range of the Key fob.

a trial comes standard on all auto transmission ruby x’s…I think after 12 months it’s subscription based? Not sure I have a 6 speed but my wife’s JL and Grand Cherokee had it

As far as I know there is nothing to look for. You have to subscribe to Jeep services through the app to unlock that feature.

I have a new 2026 automatic Rubicon X and the only thing I can do through the app is unlock the doors.

Well, I want to know before I buy it. I'd ask the sales guys at my dealership, but I don't have much confidence they will have an accurate answer. Easy for them to get it wrong, sell the vehicle to me, then I'm stuck with it (then probably not likely and/or able to return it for one feature).

The app is useless for starting unless you pay Jeep Services (I think it was like $16/month). Just use the keyfob the range is actually pretty amazing on that.

The vehicle has to come with remote start in order for it to work in the app. It’s a different RF hub than the non-remote start. You can add it later if you bought one w/o rem start. If you look up the build sheet for the VIN it will state “Remote Start System “ specifically, so that will work by FOB or app. Takes 30 seconds to look up.

As others have mentioned, first you need the remote start option itself, that works with the key fob, and then you need a monthly subscription too activate it via your smartphone.

As long as the Jeep has factory remote start you will be able to use the app. When you download the app and first log in it will ask you to put a debt/credit card on file to unlock features. That's the only way you'll get remote start with the app.

Remote Start comes with the Convenience Group.

Also, you get subscribed to the app automatically if you buy an extended warranty.

seriously? My wife had a 2018 JL and there was a trial that allowed her full functional to the Jeep, same on her 2022 Grand Cherokee

I have gone thru the online Window Sticker with a fine toothed comb. I does not mention Remote Start or Heated Seats, which I think are both part of the Convenience Group.

After doing some research today, I found a company called Infotainment that appears to make a kit to add Remote Start. Kit even comes with new Key Fobs with the actual "remote start button"... way better that a special sequence of button pushing to remote start.

So, here's my next question:
Would the Jeep App be able to remote start the vehicle via my phone?

Remote start is included with the convenience group (at least it was on my ‘25 Willys). It is listed under that group on my window sticker. This will allow you to also remote start the Jeep through the Jeep App providing you pay for connected services. It worked on mine during the free trail. I didn’t use in enough to justify the monthly fee so now I can only lock, unlock and turn on ventilation through the Jeep App.
