2024 Willys - Anvil or Earl?

I voted Earl, I'm not a fan of Anvil because I've seen Anvil JKs in person and don't love the color.


Earl looks excellent in person when the Jeep has black accents, like the grill and roof.

This forum absolutely loves Anvil, but I don't get it why over any of the other 50 shades of grey.
And the folks that are saying Earl is a girl color because you know a girl that likes it... you that insecure bro? I know a lot of girls that like Jeeps, guess they're girly cars now haha

If I was able to order a 2024, I would choose between those two colors.
I LOVE my Earl 392. The color is so much better in person. I find myself looking back at it often.
The picture of the Anvil at the reveal looks amazing, but a JK in Anvil just looks dull.
The Anvil on the 392 on the reveal is fire, but I have yet to see a JK and think "man that's the one".

I do get a lot of comments from the lady folk on how pretty Earl is. Makes me think it's a girl color, but I do love it.

I think it pops only because of the red seats.

As @PLaz posted in the other thread, this is the best direct sunlight comparison I've seen of the two colors side by side. Anvil seems to change color significantly in daylight vs shade? Even the 2 pics PLaz posted of Anvil look different from one pic to the next.

And then there's Anvil from the NY Auto Show that looks slightly different from the JK Anvil posted above? Seems like a Chameleon color? Looks Blue in top pic and Green in bottom pic?

IMO Earl is a greenish gray and Anvil is a bluish gray. I voted for Anvil but my wife would say that Earl is prettier.

I have had Anvil for 10 years. I was going to buy Earl, but my daughter & wife thought it was" too girly" & then Anvil returned, so now I'm ordering Anvil again. Anvil is that good!

That's my Anvil 10A Rubicon in the photo, which I love. (I have had a line of people who want to buy it for years b/c of the color.) It is no doubt more blue than gray, but it can look gray in certain lighting. I was going to buy an Earl until I saw it next to my Anvil, and now that Anvil is available again, I'm going to be a buyer. 'By far my favorite color of all my Jeeps (6) I've ever had (or ever seen!).

You're right... Although Anvil is more blue than gray, it is not even close to the flamboyant Hydro Blue. Anvil is a more masculine, confident yet subtle blue.

This is the best I could come up with to compare the two colors in similar lighting in Willys trim. I like them both!

If I didn't buy a 2023 Earl and waited for 2024, I'd have a hard time deciding between Earl and Anvil. They are both great colors.

I would've preferred a Rhino resurection over Anvil. That said, I was on the fence between Anvil and Earl too. For some reason Earl doesn't photograph well. After seeing it in person a few times, I was sold.

I also like that it's less popular than Anvil.

I was a fan of anvil and owned it (that’s my JK in the pic above) and sting gray. I thought anvil had a more blue tint for sure

Wasn't sure about Earl based on internet pictures, but then saw an Earl Willys in person. My Rubicon will be Earl.
