I used rum... but pie works too.
I don't drink. I don't oppose drinking. I only drink water. I don't eat soup either because any liquids in my mouth other than water is a no-no. (I'm very weird, I know.) I'm a hydro homie. But I'll put some bourbon in the pecan pie.

Got my guy at the dealership to send me an updated copy of my order sheet finally yesterday, had a little panic when I noticed the base price for a JLUR had gone up $1,200CAD since I had ordered on Aug 2, but I did get a guarantee that I am price locked at what I was quoted for the original order price.

Order sheet shows Dec 3 now, when it showed Dec 2 when he sent me a picture last week. That's fine, but I am definitely going to be keeping as close of an eye on it in the next little bit to see if the estimated ship date falls any further behind. I figure I'll check in next Saturday again if I haven't found a build sheet for my order and see what's up.

Not sure what that is in US, but mine went up $2600 from the time I ordered.

Texted my dealer yesterday to ask for a status update and he said he would check first thing this morning still no update from him and I also asked if I was price locked because now my build is like $2200 more. I hope he gives me something tomorrow. 123 days and only confirmed.

You should be price-locked. If you aren't, you need to name this dealer so everyone knows not to work with them again. But if you have a printed VON chances are pretty good that's the price you'll pay.

I hope so. I should get the tread lightly discount so maybe it doesn’t really matter what the MSRP is hopefully the dealer invoice price didn’t go up just the MSRP.

I just need one person to tell me that everything is okay...

After over 100 days, my ordered Jeep arrived at the dealership. I paid a $1000 deposit. I am picking it up this Friday (11/25). The dealership is advertising my ordered car....it has 6 miles on it. Should I be fucking angry, or should I let go and let God? I have emailed my contact, and I'm going there tomorrow.

I am deeply confused. First off, are you talking about a Grand Cherokee you've ordered? Second, do you mean the dealer is actively trying to sell the vehicle you've ordered and put a deposit on even though they know you're picking it up Friday??? Third, if you're going there tomorrow, why aren't you picking it up till Friday??? So many questions...

My post is somewhat clear:

Answer #1: I ordered the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit that is pictured in my post. I wouldn't post some other car. I made the order over 100 days ago, and it is now at the dealership...

Answer #2: It appears so, yes. Because the picture I posted shows my car from a car selling website (cars.com), with the same VIN, and it has 6 miles on it. I can only go by what I see.

Answer #3: I am picking the car up this Friday, like I said in my post. I am also going up to the dealership tomorrow...not to pick up my car, but to discuss, learn more, inspect (make sure there are no scratches on the piano black), make sure it doesnt happen again, if it's happening, etc...

So are these things okay, or not?

#1 is not okay... but only because this is a Wrangler forum rather than a GC forum...

#2 is not okay... because there is no earthly reason why a dealership you've ordered from would be advertising your vehicle via cars.com... rather than on their own site...

#3 is not okay... because if you're truly worried about them selling it out from under you, then once you've inspected it do the deal and be done with it...

In the inimitable words of Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets... "sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here." :)

Hence the name, Wrangler Forums...lol, my bad y'all. All this time I was talking about my JGC...lol! My bad, y'all.

Thanks for the feedback!

Oh, I'm still doing the deal because I got a great deal for it, it's a rare ember pearlcoat which they stopped making, and I don't want the dealership to make more money off the sale, which I know they will.

So, I'll find out more tomorrow, and may threaten a bad review in exchange for possibly more money on my trade in.

Good luck everyone!! Wranglers are really nice!!!

Seriously. I hope it goes well for you. And if they do try to sell it out from under you, out that dealer to every website you can... including this one... Good luck!

They are just using it to drive sales. When we were buying my wife a new SUV last year we found it appeared there were plenty for sale online both at the dealer’s sites and places like cars.com. It ended up being all customer orders or otherwise sold vehicles, and when you contact them asking about it they just say this vehicle isn’t available anymore, or this one is spoken for or whatever, but we can order you one just like it.
we ended up having to “order” (it was really just pulling from allocation with Toyota) and they listed it on their site for the entire time we waited for it, and when it arrived they updated the listing with pictures. Those pics were on the site for at least a month after we took delivery. The car was never on the normal lot, and they had it in the back employee lot with the window sticker removed and in a folder.

With interest rates the way they are now and the amount of time it takes for the orders to be built and arrive, they also probably know a certain number of buyers back out, so they probably also want to get the exposure for that vehicle in case you back out.

I wouldn’t worry about it at all, I think they are just using it to lure customers to them so they can talk them into submitting a factory order or selling them something else on the lot if they even have anything.

Finally! I just forced myself to forget about it and wait for the text since I signed up for text alerts. Tracker says it was shipped on November 16th. Hopefully that means I will have it by the end of this week or next.
