Just posted on another thread in response to someone who is mad at FCA and thinking about pulling their order and suddenly it hit me...

My god!!! What am I doing?!?! I've been going about this thread all wrong. Instead of creating a place for folks to vent, commiserate and cry in their metaphorical beer to help them feel better, I should start trying to get everybody as pissed off at FCA as possible. Foment that anger. That way, you'll all cancel your orders and mine will get built that much faster... :)

So... new rules. Nobody complains. Nobody offers condolences. No empathy allowed. From now on everybody just pushes all those feelings down... deep down. Suffer in silence...

Yeah.... I saw that post.... Dumpster fire of a thing it is.... Though I do like your thinking..... If I can get about as many people who live in the state of California to cancel their orders, that would likely mean I'd have a chance at getting my jeep by the end of the year! ?? (I recently found out that the number of orders in Canada = number of orders in California....)
My husband works for the railroad and a strike is scheduled to start this Friday.
Speaking of, does anyone know how Canadian orders get to the border? It wouldn't be by rail by any chance, would it?

My not-in-touch-with-reality backup plan:

Go to Toledo, ask if I can do a DIY build of my order and drive it home myself.

Problem solved or worst case scenario, I'll be tossed in jail ?

Hmm, you're in BC, I'm in IL, plant is in OH...need find a 3rd who owns and/or can fly a plane...preferably a cargo jet ?
Pshhh, cargo plane? Why get a cargo plane when we already have getaway cars ready to go!! I'll pick you up in Illinois on our way to Toledo, and ditch my current wheels when we get there! Turn and burn baby!

On another completely unrelated note, I was just looking at my dealer's website to see what 22 stock they had in.... They have 2 MY23s en route that are definitely built (you can click to check out the window sticker...) I'm pretty certain that I ordered my Jeep before they did any MY23 orders... How is it that they got these before I got mine!!! ???? (link)

I dunno, I had another not-in-touch-with-reality moment of doing a Fast and Furious type of getaway rolling onto a moving cargo plane with our JL's! ?

As for the side note...after watching everyone's experience here with their orders along with mine and from what my dealer told me, I'm completely confused as to how ordering works.

My dealer said that any "sold" orders were prioritized over dealer allocation stock. So if that were true, in your case the only way what you're seeing happened is if the dealer somehow got their allocation assigned before they got your order into the system?

I dunno...like I said, all this process has done is to confuse me to the point where I'm just staring at screens. Combine that with the labor strike in Kokomo and the impending rail strike and I've given up on tracking my order lol

edit: I'm cringing at my use of "I dunno" more than once...time for another beer ?

Oooohhhh.... Okay, let's do it! In for a penny, out for a pound! ...say, anyone here in the airforce or know someone in the airforce to whom they could call a favour in???

I know for a fact that my jeep was the first MY23 order they had done, as they didn't know anything about the 23 orders, let alone about Earl & Reign yet.... So fuck if I know how they're getting them so soon/fast.

Dude, I'm jealous that you even have the option to track online... I have to call my dealer if I want updates, and I was told (in a rather passive aggressive way) to leave them alone and I'll be called when they see any updates.... ??

I wonder if the ones in "transit" or "ordered" that we can see on dealer website inventory are only the allocation units and actual "sold/custom order" units are hidden or something...I know, I'm grasping at straws ?

Well if it makes you feel any better. My order is stuck in D1 and my dealer hasn't gotten back to me after I asked them if they saw anything in their real-time tracking. I think I've been given that same "hint" ?

I don't think I've ever heard of a dealer putting up sold/custom orders on their websites....

.... You'd think spending $70k on a purchase would entitle you to be able to bug them with a single weekly text.... ??‍♀ Oh well, I'll take my first world problems and be glad of them... (I suppose ??)

I'm thinking of going more "Mission Impossible" with it. I've seen enough assembly line videos to know there are people at the very end who's job is to drive the Jeeps off the line and park them in a lot to await shipping. So...

1.) I case the Toledo plant and identify one of the drivers who is roughly my height and weight.
2.) I shadow them for a few weeks, taking photos, learning their mannerisms. Maybe buy them a beer and chat them up to get a sampling of their voice.
3.) I spend what I'm guessing will be $25,000 or so on a 3-D prototyper to make a perfect mask of the driver and probably another $10K for the audio system to recreate his voice.
4.) I pay some 19 year old computer hacker $10K to access the Stellantis mainframe and identify the moment my VIN is scheduled to roll off the line.
5.) After tailing the driver home from the Toledo plant the night before, I tranquilize them with a dart filled with my own cocktail of Ambien dissolved in Ny-Quil.
6.) Next day, I take the driver's place at the plant and when my Jeep rolls off the line I jump in, turn left instead of right, and don't stop till I hit Iowa...

I figure with expenses, I'm all in for about $50 grand or so, which is only slightly more than I paid for the Jeep in the first place... ?

I love your style of thinking, as it's much in line with my own! We should plan crimes together. Murder, Grand Theft, bank robberies.... I'm down. Because I have some great ideas to take care of bodies evidence.

What's the earliest order that hasn't gotten past confirmed, with a VIN? I'll start my date is 6-4

Wait, to be clear, you have a VIN, or you're still in BX or C status without a VIN?
