Has anyone heard any leaks or info on a potential refresh coming for the 2023 MY. I thought 2023 might be the model year for a refresh and possibly more changes to compete against the bronco, like maybe a turbo 6 engine and a 12 in display.

Been holding off on getting another wrangler to see what changes might come up cause planning on keeping it for a long time, but honestly miss having a wrangler and hitting some trails. So any hope for some 2023 refresh news coming up soon? Or is it time to just cave in and get a 2022?

Not sure if this was posted before or if this is true but ???

Too good to be true, and yes, I had to go and check the post date. My uncle's nephew's cousin's sister told me the 2023 refresh was gonna be a Vauxhall Astra with a custom Wrangler shell. Supposed to be renamed the Jeep Vrangler E-Pump Limited XEV. Can't wait!

I bet with all supply issues and allthe covid delays it won't be out tell 24 or maybe 25 . Plus the resake value is more then sticker on most 21 models you probably can drive it for a year for free

While I have nothing against hybrid/electric vehicles, I really don't understand the purpose of the eTorque Pentastar mild-hybrid system. The only consumer 'benefit' that I can see is the very minor performance boost for only the first 3/4 wheel spin. It honestly just doesn't seem worth the added complexity and eventual expense to repair or replace the large battery pack and its additional cooling system for such a negligible gain.

Go with an electric or full-hybrid setup, add forced induction or keep it NA, but imo eTorque just seems half-assed and something that will ultimately be far more trouble than it's worth.
The manufacturer gets carbon credits for it. It deletes the starter, combining it with the generator. I think sooner or later, all vehicles with gas engines will be using a system similar to this and eventually everything will be 48 volts. Powering everything currently is a lot to ask for 12 volts. With more electronic "tech" coming in the future, 12 volts wont cut it.

Already some cities have no idle-zones and only EV or ESS equipped vehicles are allowed.

This will continue to be pushed out.

And for what it's worth my 2019 2.0L did pickup 0.4mpg with ESS enabled over disabled. I was shocked but a few back to back over several hundred miles on/off has proven it does improve mileage in a mixed highway/city environment.

If I was city only it would be even more I suspect.

Note: ESS on my Jeep is the eTorque/BSG setup with the 48V Lithium battery.

The ESS on my 3.6 quit working a few weeks ago, with no warning or lights. The average MPG is unchanged.

I wouldn't change a thing about my JL. I've had a 2005 TJ Rubicon and a 2011 JK Unlimited and they couldn't hold a candle to my Covid edition JL Willys.

It's larger for city, that's true. I'm 2 mpg difference in summer here in PHX metro with all the stop and go, on my ecodiesel and 2 door. I'd still prefer not to have ESS unless it was the mild hybrid version which isn't so jarring.

Well, I didn't read this entire thread so don't know if it has been mentioned, BUT, here is my hope: Jeep offers the J6 with new 6-cylinder turbo power plant.

Jeep Wrangler JL 2023 refresh? J699
