Not sure who all is telling you all there is a possible rail strike, there isnt. We have a contract and are supposed to vote on it in the next 30 days. So whoever is using that as an excuse as to why jeeps aren’t being delivered is lying. P.S. I work for railroad, in transportation department I would know if we were gonna strike lol
It’s not about a Jeep excuse.

Well, the news broke several weeks ago that one of the unions did not accept the deal put forth, and that in order for the deal to pass, all the unions had to accept the deal... so, that is why there is speculation of an impending strike.

The Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees (BMWED) voted NOT to ratify the national agreement back on October 10th and, this week, the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) followed them in voting NOT to ratify the national agreement. The national agreement apparently requires all unions to ratify it in order to pass.

What is currently unclear is when the unions would be allowed to strike, due to the laws governing rail labor.

If you'd like articles on the matter, I can post links to them...
I don’t need the news article, can’t believe everything you read on the news, or on the internet for that matter, I’m also not here to get into a debate when I work for a class 1 railroad and this not how it works with national negotiations and our contracts. The only unions that truly hold bargaining power is SMART-TD and BLET, who govern conductors, engineers and yard masters. That’s the reason why it was a national negotiation and all the other unions decided to jump on board because it was thought that these 2 unions would gain the best contract. And the guys who you’re speaking about that voted it down on October 10th are still working, no word of a strike. They’re waiting to see how BLET and SMART-TD vote is my guess. But have a good one bud

Toledo OH to Baltimore it was shipped on the 11th. I never blamed the rail system.
The 11th of October? There’s no train on the system with a date older than October of 24. Railroad delays work in a time sense of hours, not days or weeks for that matter. I think all of it is just people point the blame IMO. I’m waiting on my rubicon also, which hasn’t been scheduled to be built yet and I’m in the southern region of US

The date he’s quoting is the Jeep “ship” date. It’s not actually the date it got on a train. And actually it really does not mean it has shipped. It just means the plant has released it for shipping and invoiced the dealer. It could still be sitting in Ohio. The delays are not related to Jeeps once they get out on trains.

You sound a lot like one of those people that says they have the inside scoop on things when they don't... aka a BS'er. And the saying goes... ya can't BS a BS'er. I'm one of them, and I know my kind when I see them. But I guess it's also possible that you're one of those people that just thinks they know it all when they're terribly uninformed.

"Can't believe everything you read on the news"

So, are you sitting at the negotiating table hammering out these deals and know something about this particular agreement that news outlets don't? I sincerely doubt it, but I'm always happy to eat crow.

Apparently you're on "inside" but you don't understand that in order to avoid a strike (from any of the unions), all 12 unions must independently agree to ratify this agreement. So, regardless of what the SMART-TD and BLET do, the BRS and BMWED could still strike, as they have rejected the deal.

"And the guys who you’re speaking about that voted it down on October 10th are still working, no word of a strike."

No, they are still working because there are laws that govern when rail workers can strike and, in accordance with those laws, the BRS cannot yet strike...

According to Michael Baldwin, the president of the BRS, it is unclear what day the signalmen union would be able to go on strike. Under the law that controls rail labor, the unions can go back out on strike after Congress returns to session for five days. But it’s unclear when that clock will start ticking if Congress is only in session briefly before a Thanksgiving recess. He said it is possible that his union and the BMWED might not be able to go on strike until early December.

And to your comment about only the BLET and SMART-TD unions mattering, all 12 unions represent about 115,000 union rail workers, and the BRS and BMWED together represent nearly 36,000 of those workers (about 31% of the whole). Sure, the SMART-TD and BLET unions represent more workers (about half of union rail workers), but the BRS and BMWED together accounting for almost a third of all union rail workers, both of which have rejected this deal, is nothing to sneeze at in terms of "bargaining power." Sure, individually they may not hold as much leverage, but they stand together on their rejection of this deal.

Seems like maybe you do need to read a news article or five.

Jeep Wrangler JL 2023 Orders - Check in here 1666920969048

We have very similar builds expect mine is the Granite color and I didn't do the steel bumpers (already have a replacement) and went with the unpainted fenders and hard top.

Getting closer, window sticker popped up, I did notice a price jump on a number of options as well as total price.

If you guys think sitting at C or D1 or even E is tough, try being at KZX and getting ghosted by your dealer for a few days. Infuriating.

Yep. Prices have definitely gone up since many of us ordered. Particularly those who ordered before production began.

Oof. Ghosting is not OK. I would either be in there if I lived close or calling everyone i could there to find out wqhat is happening. Of course, if I remember correctly, you ordered from a high volume dealer, so you may have a longer PDI process, which you really can't control. But I think you absolutely deserve to be informed of where you stand and when you can expect to pick it up.

Right. They haven’t even confirmed that it’s been delivered. They are both a high volume dealer on Ratbert’s list and my local dealer coincidentally. If I don’t hear anything today, I may pay them a visit tomorrow. They have been pretty responsive in the process so far and did indicate a few days ago that they got a huge shipment and that mine may be among them, so maybe it’s just a processing delay. Still frustrating, though.
