Our jeep is at the dealership. Received a text today. Time to do paperwork and have it placed on a truck to bring it to the house. Still only shows as built in the tracker.

Dates were:
Ordered/Confirmed 8/12
Scheduled 8/23
Production 9/29
Built 10/3
Train 10/11
Train yard waiting for truck 10/20
At Dealership/Ready 10/25

Paperwork done. Now waiting to work with them to have a truck pick it up and bring it 180 miles to me.

Oof. Ghosting is not OK. I would either be in there if I lived close or calling everyone i could there to find out wqhat is happening. Of course, if I remember correctly, you ordered from a high volume dealer, so you may have a longer PDI process, which you really can't control. But I think you absolutely deserve to be informed of where you stand and when you can expect to pick it up.

Ha! Just got an email from them that it’s in. They said they currently have over 1,000 factory orders. Geez. That sounds like a ton for a single dealership. Haven’t made an appointment yet for pickup as they say it takes at least 48 hrs from when it hits the lot for PDI. But, it should have hit the lot a few days ago, so …

I don’t need the news article, can’t believe everything you read on the news, or on the internet for that matter, I’m also not here to get into a debate when I work for a class 1 railroad and this not how it works with national negotiations and our contracts. The only unions that truly hold bargaining power is SMART-TD and BLET, who govern conductors, engineers and yard masters. That’s the reason why it was a national negotiation and all the other unions decided to jump on board because it was thought that these 2 unions would gain the best contract. And the guys who you’re speaking about that voted it down on October 10th are still working, no word of a strike. They’re waiting to see how BLET and SMART-TD vote is my guess. Yeah, and when you consider that Jeep sells around 200k Wranglers a year, that seems like a huge percentage of the total relative to the number of dealers. Though, now that I think about it, they may have meant 1,000 orders overall, not just Wranglers. That makes more sense, given that there are apparently around 2,400 dealers in US.

Mark - in your tracker can you tell if an order has been canceled? Does order just disappear?

Orders are not able to be canceled once they are assigned a VIN. The dealer will get the vehicle whether you take delivery or they sell it on the lot but it will not be "cancelled".

No idea. But good point. They might do 1000 custom orders across CDJ.

I feel like at this point someone has taped my eyelids opened and all the recent postings are of Hydro Blue jeeps being delivered I haven't had a scotch in months but I think I'm bringing a bottle with me to the dealership when I pick it up. Can't imagine sipping on a scotch signing paperwork is frowned upon?

Depends on the Scotch and as long as you share, I'm sure it is fine.
