How much time does a build usually stay at D1 before there’s more movement?
I see that some people went into D1 long before production actually started, so I know that added time. I went into D1 Friday (8/19), just curious how long to expect before more movement.

My 2022 Sahara was ordered 01 Mar 22 and went D1 on 01 Apr 22, got build sheet on 4/21/22, and got window sticker on 4/24/22. So for me approx 3 weeks. Since I am 150 mile straight shot down I-75 from Toledo, I took delivery on 4/27/22.

From Dealer regarding shipping:
As a general rule of thumb vehicles arrive to our dealership approximately 4-6 weeks after the estimated shipping date.

Once the vehicles arrive at our dealership, there is still a process that has to take place. We have to check it in for transport damage, if its minor we have to schedule it for repair. It has to go through the shop, PDI process and final inspection. That process can take 4-7 days depending on the volume we have.


First Jeep, couldn't be more excited! Hope this helps anyone trying to figure out their own timelines.

I guess it depends what type of information you are trying to extrapolate. This is a preorder so i'm trying to help others who are in the same boat who ordered early and aren't seeing very much progress on their order.

My order was in super early and I was seeing much later dates already get updated with "in production."

I'm sure the options, color, etc. play into the delivery date so I also added the options I ordered to see if anyone else with a simpler build is seeing earlier build times, which appears to be case here and there.

Obviously this is all taken with a grain of salt. Not sure what rock solid info you are looking for here but it's just waiting game. This is what we do while we wait

I have similar dates as you with my Willys build. In production 8/19, estimated delivery 9/27. When I ordered from the dealer, he told me they usually see delivery 2-3 weeks after built, so I wonder if 5 weeks (estimate) in the tracker is just a way to reduce the number of buyers asking where their Jeep is after it is built if they put an estimated delivery date that is further out than they actual think it will take.

Update: Checked to see if my build moved to "built", it wasn't but estimated delivery moved up from 9/27 to 9/25. Curious why/what causes these things to change. ?‍

I ordered a 2-door 7/11/22 and the salesman just texted me an est. build date of 9/21/22!

Nice! Does your pizza tracker show this too or just the dealer? My dealer has been radio silent since the deposit, so I’m hoping that pizza tracker works because I haven’t even gotten a vin yet!

Here is a recap of my order journey:

• Signed dealer order 6/24
• Order confirmed 6/24 [pizza tracker]
• VIN received 7/6
• Scheduled 7/6 [pizza tracker]
• Went into production 8/19 (email and text from Jeep, pizza tracker updated a day after)
• Build sheet showed up 8/22 (both in crypto and on the pizza tracker)
• Delivery estimate 9/22 (appeared on tracker 8/22)

Thanks! Yes, when I received the VIN the ship by date was 8/18. Then it went to 8/19. Checked with the dealer on 8/19 and they said the ship by date showed 8/26 as of that morning. Checked the pizza tracker this morning and was surprised that it said 8/21. When I received the VIN from the dealer he said this was the 4th in production. Guessing he meant 392. Trying not to check for updates too often, but damn it’s tough to try and forget about it! Good luck on your order!

The more of this I see, the more I deduce that it's all liquid based upon dealer allocation, parts availability and delivery logistics. Only one of those three is predetermined. Dealer allocation. The other two pieces will determine build and delivery dates.

And, unless you work for FCA and have access to all parts availibility along with parts replenishment dates, we will never, ever have any kind of reliable expectation as to when any of this will happen.
