Congrats. Man that’s quick schedule for a 392. I ordered a dang 4xe on 3/3 and can’t even get confirmed much less scheduled.Caught a little off guard. Ordered our 392 on 3/7. Went D1 on 3/17. Stark contrast from our TRX. Ordered 11/1, went D1 on 3/16 lol.
Welcome! I also had a 1998 Cherokee back in the day, but it’s long gone at this point. Your order is similar to mine - I got Earl and soft top but most everything else is the same. Mine is on a train headed my way… I ordered 12/30.This is my first post on jlwranglerforums.com. After lurking here for a while, I joined because I now have a Wrangler on order. First, by way of introduction, here is my automotive history (not counting my wife's cars):
-- Jeep pedal car when I was about 3 years old, so about 1961/1962. It was fairly primitive.
-- 1973 Mazda RX-2, which was a hand-me-down from my father when I was in college. It was a fun little car with the rotary engine and manual transmission.
-- 1987 Buick Century (I needed a family car)…competent and rather boring.
-- 1998 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) Sport. Due to working too much, this Jeep didn't go off road as often as I would have liked. Still, it did Titus Canyon, Hole in the Wall, and the Racetrack in Death Valley National Park, both ends of the Dusy-Ershim Trail in the Central Sierra Nevada (the long middle portion was above its pay grade), and lots of construction sites (I'm a civil engineer). This Jeep is still in the family. I sold it to my son in 2008, when it had about 165,000 miles. He later sold it to my older son-in-law, when it had about 200,000 miles. My son-in-law did a bunch of work on it, both repairs and improvements, including a lift and larger tires. It's his daily driver and it now has about 235,000 miles. My oldest granddaughter might be driving it when she turns 16 next year, at least that's HER hope.
-- 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) Laredo. I bought this Jeep with the 4.7L V-8, which was upgraded for that year. This Jeep has been an outstanding vehicle in almost every way, although at nearly 170,000 miles it now needs some engine work (head gasket, still drivable though). It's not as capable off-road as the Cherokee (or as the Wrangler will be) and the gas mileage isn't as good as the Buick, but otherwise it's the best vehicle my wife and I have owned. Regarding gas mileage, the overall average is (within round-off error) identical to what I got out of the Cherokee. And, on a couple freeway trips, I got as high as 26 mpg which I never accomplished in the Cherokee. BTW, my son-in-law is thinking about taking on this vehicle and doing the engine. Both of my sons-in-law like working on vehicles and my brother (who has re-built at least a half dozen cars and rebuilt several engines) can help as well.
-- 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (JLU; on order). This is what you really want to know about. I ordered a "mid-spec" Rubicon. First, I didn't get the XR package because my wife would have a very difficult time getting into one, even with side steps. Second, I went with the V6. As much fun as a 392 would be, this will be daily driver for a while since I'm not quite ready to retire and gas mileage is important for that.
So, here are the particulars:
-- 2023 Wrangler 4-door Rubicon with Customer Preferred Package 25R, including 3.6L V-6 with eTorque and 8-speed AT
-- Color: Firecracker Red
-- Cloth seats
-- Black 3-piece hardtop
-- LT285/70R17C OWL off-road tires
-- Gorilla Glass windshield
-- 4:1 Rock-trac HD Full-time 4WD
-- Safety Group and Advanced Safety Group
-- Front off-road camera
-- Trailer tow and HD electrical group
-- Cold weather group
-- LED lighting group
-- Hardtop headliner
-- 4 additional gallons of gas
Here are my dates so far:
March 1, 2023 -- Place order through my local dealer.
March 3, 2023 -- Email from Jeep that my order was confirmed.
March 17, 2023 -- Email from Jeep that my vehicle has been scheduled for assembly.
The subsequent dates are TBD.
Unfortunately you’re going to find the mileage of the V6 only marginally better (by 3-4 mpg in city) than the non-XR 392.This is my first post on jlwranglerforums.com. You’re giving me hope, mine was supposed to be built around when the recall was announced so it got delayedNot that it means much, but I was surprised to see my MT go into D1![]()
You can reach out to your dealer. Ours went D1 on 3/17. This morning, dealer shared the estimated build date is 3/27. Expected to show up on the lot 4 weeks later. Granted, this is all estimates and is subject to delays, but it is tentatively scheduled to start being built 10 days after getting scheduled.STATUS: D1
Scheduled
Updated: 2023-03-18
I guess the wait time from here is still completely up in the air????

Mine took 2 days to get to Staunton. The tracker web site may be down but the email updates are working. Just got the update that my Jeep has finally been built after 107 days since placing the order, of which 45 days were in production status. Now to see how long shipping to Virginia takes.

Now how long will we all wait for them to go into production? It must be Willys month. A whole slew of them, mine included(!), has moved to D1.

For some reason the Jeep Tracker isn't rendering the image for me.
