I suppose it's possible. My dealer is probably considered high volume for the area but I'm not sure what Jeep considers a high volume
I called my dealer to cancel today and after them escalating to their rep's boss' boss, apparently, lo and behold the 2023 Sahara Altitude that I ordered on 6/14 is now C status with a soft date of 9/1/22. Still no VIN. Not a firm schedule, but at least it's moving forward (with Cold Weather). Soooo, we'll reassess in September, I guess. Sorry, everyone, for any confusion or concern I created. This is my first time through this.

It sucks, but I can kinda see why they do that, though. If they opened up that option some people would be changing things back and forth and slowing this process down more than it already is. You could cancel your order but you might end up losing any deposit you put down.
I wish I had been on this forum before I placed my order. I would have done a lot better all around. I put a hefty deposit of $2500 on the build and agreed to pay MSRP. I am tempted to pull out of the deal and just eat the $2500 but that is a lot.
Did you make these changes after you had a VON?

At least ask the dealership if they honor affiliate discounts. If they do then get Tread Lightly for $100. After 30 days that will drop your cost to 1% under invoice. That might be a win even if you lose your deposit. Also check out the dealerships in my sig for bigger discounts.
Jeep Chat is still telling me I don't have a VIN, as is the pizza tracker, but I have had one for weeks. Like the OP, I also ordered through Koons (placed on 7/2) and I had my VIN within a week or so. Ask them for a status update. I am in D1 status and have a ship date of 8/24 (supposedly).
We ordered the same day with Koons but have a build date of 8/26. Weird.

I think the "Estimated Shipment Date" that I have may be a build date, but the printout says "shipment". I'd be happy with either, as when I placed the order I was concerned I might not see it before Christmas. Nobody seems to know the rhyme or reason behind who gets scheduled when. Mine is a pretty much fully loaded Rubi XR in Hydro Blue, including the full time 4WD option, but it got scheduled quickly.
