How slammed is the area during EJS? Is it possible to run a trail between/around EJS groups?

Awesome to hear that. Thanks @DanW. We’re driving from Maryland so we wanted to build in some flexibility as well. You'll be fine and have more flexibility. You won't have the expert guides, but if you have any experience at all you won't need them. I enjoyed the first time (2015) with guides but had just as much fun the next two trips and saved some money. We did learn a lot from the guides, though. Either way is great.
Generally you can run trails even if EJS is running that day. Just plan on either leaving early ahead of them or give the group time to get a ways down the trail before you leave. How slammed is the area during EJS? Is it possible to run a trail between/around EJS groups?

I think this is the first year they aren’t using flags, they used to pass out felt antenna flags specific to the year to signal you were a registered participant. I think I read they won’t do that this year. Either way, the trail leads have a list of all signed up runners and will check you in as you pull up. I don’t think you need to worry much.Do we need something in our registration packets to get onto a trail? I get in Sunday and have a trail Monday morning.
I'm assuming that trail leads will know that I'm signed up...
