I've tried wd-40 on the hinges but it didn't make the slightest difference. I'm worried the glass may crack. Any suggestions before I start loosing the hinge screws?

Lucas White Lighting Lithium grease, WD40 isnt a lubricant. It breaks down grease
Do you have third party hinge sleeves ?

The lithium doesn't seem to make a difference. Hard to know if it's getting in between the pieces though.

PTFE? Teflon spray?

You need something that penetrates. Silicone is good and won't dry out quickly. This stuff is useful around the house/garage/ranch, etc.

Thanks, it's coated in white lithium now so this doesn't look like an option. I may have to try and remove the hinge, clean and relube it.

Just an update:

I loosened the two screws that held the hinge to the top and the creaking has stopped. The screws are still snug and secure.

They must have been over-tightened on the assembly line or the previous owner might have had the glass replaced? Possibly could be weather related.
