Man, going to have to grovel before the wife and see if we can come up with that cash. We aren't too far apart either. I'm just in Collierville.
Is this top painted black or is it the textured matte black?
Left the 2019 Sting Gray JLUR club for the 2021 Firecracker Red JLUR club. This build is what I originally wanted; I was just impatient.
Soft top, Saddle Brown Leather, RED!
No, there was nothing to fix according to the service department. They put it up on the rack and put another Rubicon up on a rack and they both made the same sounds. They claim it has something to do with the lockers.
Hasn't created a problem for me yet.
Watched. Very cool, but I was really speaking to your first post where you explained quite a bit in detail. I'd just like to hear that through a video and maybe some hand gestures.
I think I posted elsewhere here about this, but they put my JL on the rack and another new JL on the rack and both had the same noise when you rolled the wheels.
Ultimately Jeep Customer Care ended extending my drivetrain warranty by another 25k miles for my inconvenience. Which to me really...
Here's how I tested mine, for your data:
Floor jack (spun wheel, heard sound while in Park and engine OFF)
Floor jack (spun wheel, heard sound while in Neutral and engine OFF)
Floor jack (spun wheel, heard sound while in Neutral and engine ON)
Replicated this at the dealership but on a lift...
I had my entire axle replaced, too and it did not resolve the problem for me. So that isn't the solution, or there are a large number of faulty axles in stock, or something else in the drive train is causing them to fail once installed.
Hard to tell while driving due to other ambient noise, but I believe I am hearing it become a low, fluid rumble while I'm driving at higher speeds. But maybe I am just imagining that.
I wish we could get an actual Jeep engineer to comment on this and put it to bed.
This is audio of my jeep:

I took the Jeep and the audio to the dealer yesterday and the service manager and two mechanics, including the head mechanic, seem to agree that it is a normal sound. They also put another similar rubicon on the rack and spun its wheels and...
Yeah it's odd how it seems to be in different spots depending on the vehicle. Mine is clearly only on the right side.
I have the 2.0 8spd e-torque system, what about you guys?
I've opened a new case and they are attempting to schedule an appointment with a new dealership. They new dealership hasn't responded yet, but it's only been a little over a day.
We'll be there in March. Can anyone recommend some simple primitive trails that I can take the family on? We range from 13 - 72 in age, so we can't get too crazy. Some scenic gravel roads at best, maybe. ;)
Their first response was "bad spot on one of the spider gears” and the rear differential was being replaced. Was told the "axle" was on sight, but now they are waiting on a bearing.
So that was all confusing, but in order to get the bearing (we had been waiting for it for two weeks already)...
