2021 Backup Camera Downgrade?

I recently traded in my 2018 JLUR for a 2021 JLURD. So far I really like the diesel.

My only complaint so far is that the backup camera on my 2018 had a really nice picture for the backup camera and the 2021 backup camera does not appear to be as good. I have the 8.4 inch screen with the forward facing camera option.

Anyone know of the backup cameras were changed at some point?

Interestingly, the off road cam is supposed to be paired with an even better rear facing cam; I'm surprised you find it to be the opposite.

Nope, just checked and it is all clear.

When I check the front camera, the front camera is crystal clear. The rear camera just seems really grainy.

I just posted the same issue on a FB Group, and I was going to post it here. I searched first and we are in total agreement! My friend's 2011 Honda Odyssey has much better image quality. It's really a pathetic situation.

The camera on mine is excellent compared to our Lexus GX. I’m thinking yours is not working problem.

After hearing that complaint from a few others, I do believe I have a dud also!

Maybe lose connection on video cable to back of system? A few things to check are listed on prior thread on that "Backup camera issues"

Ya paying 60k for it? Bring in back to the dealer and tell them it’s not acceptable. Mine is a 2019 and is crystal clear.

Same same here. i had a "20 Rubicon i ordered in '19 and now i have a '21 Rubicon and the rear camera on the new one is terrible compared to the old one.
