2018 JLU Sahara 6-Speed Manual
Having problems starting my 2018 JLU Sahara 3.6L with manual transmission. The vehicle has about 50K miles on it, I've owned it since new. Yesterday morning I tried to start my Jeep as normal but it didn't start at the push of the button. It made a sound like the starter tried to start but didn't finish, I pushed the button again and she fired right up so I shrugged it off. When leaving working, I pressed the button and could hear the starter try to engage but not start the engine. Sort of a clunk sound that repeated a couple times. It wasn't the rapid clicking sound of a dead battery, but I tried jump starting for more than an hour using a couple different vehicles to no avail. I pulled the battery and took it to Autozone for testing. The battery is 2.5 years old and tested out as a good battery on two different devices. I took it back and reinstalled in the Jeep, and the Jeep fired right up like nothing was wrong. It is however now showing a check engine light. This morning it gave me same reaction I started the day off with yesterday. Did not start on first attempt, but started on second try. I went to Autozone and had the code read: U1442 Implausible Data Received from Driver Presence Detection Module.

Any ideas or experience from anyone on what this means? Any ideas on next steps?

Replace both batteries.

Since you already touched it, check the high amp fuse array.
