For those interested.

Notice the bolt stud is narrower at the point of failure. Bolt head is 18 mm, 7" length.

Holy cross thread. It’s no wonder it failed.

You may be looking at the damage from extracting the offending bolt.
I’m looking at every single thread totally crushed from misthreading and forcing it. And when bolts twist apart from over torque they do get thinner where they stretch and deform where the break occurs.

Not at 35 degrees (F). And before it hit torque click, which is only 44 ft lbs. It may have been damaged from previous removals, but the discoloration on the metal would indicate something else is going on.

I’m not implying it was you. But that bolt was grossly misinstalled and the threads are 100% crushed all the down to the last thread, which couldn’t be damaged from extraction. The thin spot is from the bolt twisting before it broke.
